Happy 62nd Anniversary, Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK)!

Today, we proudly celebrate 62 years of excellence, tradition, and unwavering commitment to the true spirit of Karatedo.

Founded on July 21, 1964 by Shihan Manuel “Pocholo” Veguillas III, AAK was built on a vision that karate is more than a sport—it is a way of life. His dream was not merely to create champions in competition, but to develop men and women of character through discipline, respect, humility, gratitude, loyalty, and service.

For more than six decades, that vision has guided every generation of AAK karateka. As we celebrate this milestone, we honor the countless masters, seniors, instructors, coaches, referees, athletes, parents, alumni, and supporters whose dedication has strengthened the AAK Family and helped preserve the values upon which our Association was built.

As we look to the future, we do so with excitement, purpose, and renewed commitment. New generations of karateka will rise, new leaders will emerge, and new milestones will be achieved. We will continue to develop world-class athletes, outstanding instructors, respected officials, and, above all, individuals of integrity who embody the true spirit of Karatedo.

The road ahead is not about creating a new path—it is about faithfully continuing the one our founder began. We are simply following in the footsteps of Shihan Manuel “Pocholo” Veguillas III, carrying his vision forward, preserving his legacy, and ensuring that the values he instilled continue to inspire generations to come.

To everyone who has been, and continues to be, part of the AAK Family, thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey. Together, we will continue to break through barriers, build champions in life, and ensure that the AAK legacy grows even stronger in the years ahead.
