HISTORY OF YAW-YAN

The originator of Yaw-Yan is Napoleon Fernandez or "Master Nap", a native of Quezon province, who originally studied Jujutsu. The word Yaw-Yan was derived from the last two syllables of Sayaw ng Kamatayan meaning "Dance of Death". Fernandez had a background in various martial arts such as Jeet Kune Do, Karate, Eskrima, Aikido, and Judo. He is said to have modified all the marti

TO: All Yaw-Yan Fervilleon SOMA Members, Instructors, and Branch Affiliates
DATE: April 29, 2026
SUBJECT: Official Revocation of Membership and Blacklisting

This formal notice serves to inform the martial arts community and all concerned parties that Joerick Rivera is no longer a member of Yaw-Yan Fervilleon SOMA.

Due to documented violations of the group’s internal rules and code of conduct, the administration has reached the following decision, effective immediately:

Membership Revocation: Joerick Rivera is no longer accredited, recognized, or authorized to represent Yaw-Yan Fervilleon SOMA in any capacity.

Blacklisting: He is permanently barred from entering or participating in activities at any and all Yaw-Yan Fervilleon branches and sanctioned events.

Unauthorized Instruction: Any instruction, seminars, or demonstrations conducted by the aforementioned individual are not recognized by this organization.

We remind all members to uphold the values and discipline that our martial arts group stands for. This action has been taken to preserve the integrity and safety of our practitioners and the reputation of our style.
