Go Ateh Go!
This is perhaps the most badass photo I’ve seen in the last few years of running MTB Fitness. Never have I seen a photo that makes me want to get up and work my arse off as much as this one does! She’s NAILING it, with a SMILE on her face while everyone behind her is in complete disarray! The awesome thing is, there’s a great story behind it too!
I received this photo in the following email from follower Jacquie H :
“Dear Matt
As you can tell from my number of likes on your media posts I’m a passionate follower and MTB rider. I bought your training plan and wear my jumper with pride.
I’ve only been riding for the last two years and it has been life changing. I developed a passion for a sport that taught me so much about self discipline; dedication, physical and mental toughness.
I’ve been training hard, improving my skills with regular coaching sessions and joined a group of riders including my husband. This led me to enter stage racing. I’ve now successfully completed 3 stage races, Port to Port; Reef to Reef and most recently the Cape to Cape.
I have a great photo that summarises my determination and mental toughness I have gained from the sport. I thought if you share it on your website this will be an inspiration for others. This was an extremely tough climb but I tapped into my inner strength and pushed through the pain. Great sense of accomplishment and I felt the joy and freedom!
I hope this can inspire others if you share. Female numbers remain low in these MTB races and I want to advocate for all the women who are thinking they can’t do this that with the right mindset dedication and self belief you CAN!
