Robredo Foundation joins Catholics around the world in mourning the passing of Pope Francis—a humble shepherd who redefined the Church through service and a tireless champion of the poor and forgotten. His life was a living testament to the belief that true power lies in compassion, that the measure of a society is found not in its wealth but in how it cares for its most vulnerable.

Like the values Sec. Jesse Robredo embodied, Pope Francis showed us that leadership means walking with the marginalized, listening to the unheard, and acting with radical love. May we honor his memory by continuing his mission—transforming societies through selfless service, genuine empathy, and courageous love for those in need.

Pope Francis died on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta.

Heidi Mendoza is against same-sex marriage. For many, that’s a dealbreaker. I understand.

But disagreement is not the same as discrimination.

She has not disrespected the LGBTQ+ community. She is not spreading hate. Her belief comes from her faith, like many Filipinos.

One belief does not erase a lifetime of service.

She fought corruption. She stood her ground at the Commission on Audit. She served at the United Nations with honor. Her track record speaks for itself.

Disagreeing with her is your right. But cancelling her over one issue is a different story.

We deserve the political circus and incompetence we get if we keep throwing away decent candidates like Heidi Mendoza.

Even VP Leni shares the same stance, yet she was open to dialogue. Heidi is too. That should count for something.

This election is not just about personal views. It’s about leadership grounded in integrity. It’s about real change. It’s about ending the cycle of traditional politics that has failed us for far too long.
