On April 9, 1942, the surrender of Bataan led to the infamous 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, where thousands of Filipino and American soldiers endured unimaginable suffering, and many gave their lives. This day is remembered as 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻, honoring their courage and sacrifice for freedom.

𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿 is not only found in history. Today, Filipinos continue to fight, not against foreign invaders but against injustice, inequality, and systems that fail to serve the people. Though our nation is free, we still struggle with colonial mindsets, heavy burdens of taxation, and underserved communities.

To be 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 is to carry forward the spirit of our heroes, standing firm for truth, demanding justice, and living with courage in service of the nation. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom must be defended in every generation.

The blood spilled in Bataan was for freedom, and though 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘯 𝘶𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘺, 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘴. 🕊️

Easter is the greatest and oldest feast of the Christian Church, celebrated as the triumph of Christ’s resurrection over sin and death. It is the cornerstone of faith, the fulfillment of God’s promises, and the center of the liturgical year.

Because of its connection to the lunar calendar, Easter has no fixed date and is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox. This movable character explains why all other major feasts such as Ascension, Pentecost, and Corpus Christi depend on Easter’s timing.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. Easter is not only a celebration of Christ’s victory but also a call to unity, love, and witness in our daily lives. ✝️✨

Black Saturday is a quietest moment within the holy week and marks as the second day in the fulfillment of Christ’s promise. Jesus Christ died and was laid in the tomb, and the world fell into silence & mourning. ✝️

On this day, no mass is celebrated during the day until the Easter vigil. The Church remains in solemn silence. Its bells do not ring, and its sacred spaces are stripped bare, which symbolizes a world in stillness and a great sorrow and uncertainty of those who mourned him. The lights turned off, leaving the surroundings in darkness except for a single lighted candle, which symbolizes Christ, the Light of the World, who brings illumination and salvation to humanity. 🕯

It is on this day, we are invited to unite ourselves with the Blessed Virgin Mary, who remained steadfast in faith and hope even when all seemed lost as we wait in hopeful expectation for the coming of the New Day. 🕊

As we enter this day, may it teach us to endure the moments of silence that we encounter in life, guide us to live with steadfast and confident hope. In this quiet waiting, we are reminded that walking with Mary allows us to find strength, so that we may continue our journey with renewed faith. 🙏

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆: 𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ✝️🧎🏻‍♀️‍➡️

𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚, 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚, 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩 ❤️‍🩹

Today, the world pauses. We look at the cross, we remember the sacrifice, and we rest and reflect in the overwhelming grace that changed our lives forever.
𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. It is a day of deep, quiet stillness, a time for solemn remembrance as we look at the wooden cross and remember the sacrifice He endured. In that dark moment, heaven and earth were brought together.

We call this day "Good" because it reveals the 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝. Jesus, holding all the power of the universe, chose not to hurt nor speak to those who hurt Him, but rather chose to win their hearts with pure love. He stepped in to shatter the chains of death and sin that we could never break on our own. He became the ultimate cure for our brokenness.

Today, we remember that 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. Jesus stepped in to pay our debt, offering freedom to everyone through the forgiveness of sins, and so, let us continue to reflect on that kind of unconditional love. 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹

𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 ✝️💧

The word "𝘔𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘺" comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning "𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥." On this night, Jesus gave a new command: 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂. And to show us how, He knelt and washed the feet of His disciples, even those who would soon betray and deny Him.

This day holds two parallel truths: the gift of the Eucharist and the unraveling of human faithfulness. Judas walked into the night to betray. Peter swore he would never fall, yet before the rooster crowed, he denied knowing Jesus.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲. We may feel dirty, unworthy, or fearful, but God looks at our feet and loves us still. We can choose to betray like Judas, deny like Peter, or wash like Jesus.

We are invited to lay aside our ambition and fear, and simply stay awake, not because we are strong, but because we have been deeply loved from the very beginning. 🕊️🤍

It is the day we remember the betrayal of Jesus Christ, when Judas Iscariot chose to hand Him over for thirty pieces of silver. A moment that reveals not only an act of betrayal but also the quiet struggle between faith and temptation within the human heart.

Holy Wednesday is not just a remembrance, it is a call to reflection. It invites us to look within ourselves and confront the “small Judas” we may carry, the moments we choose personal gain over loyalty, convenience over truth, and self-interest over faith.

This day reminds us to reflect on broken trust, on the times we have faltered, and on the grace that calls us back. It is a time to renew our commitment to faithfulness, to choose integrity, and to remain steadfast in our walk with God.
This Holy Wednesday, let us examine our hearts, seek forgiveness, and choose faith over betrayal. 🕊️🤍

As whispers of betrayal stir in the shadows, some listen closely while others resist, yet His call remains clear—faith that holds, hearts that stay vigilant, and lives ready for what must come. 🌿

☀️ On 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, Jesus is remembered as a righteous judge and teacher who calls people to genuine faith. 🕊️🌿

⛪ Jesus’ outrage against the merchants in the Temple symbolises the condemnation of the corruption and misuse of a sacred place. It shows that worship should be sincere, and should not be motivated by greed or personal gain.

🌱 The 𝗙𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 reminds us that our Catholic faith should produce righteousness and compassion. It asks of us to examine ourselves and make sure that our faith in the Lord is not just for “appearances”.

📜 While Jesus’ teachings in the Temple reminds us once again that the truest form of faith requires honesty, humility, and moral responsibility.

🪞♥️ Holy Monday is a day where we are reminded of the values of true devotion and righteousness. It asks us to examine our hearts, and make sure that our faith reflects the teachings of the Lord through our words and actions. 🙏💭✨
