HARMONY SHIELD 2027 - The Philippine National Rugby League is pleased to announce that the Central West Black Trackers will visit the Philippines in 2027 for a two-game series featuring Men’s and Under-18 Boys’ teams.
The Central West Black Trackers represent more than just a rugby league club; they serve as a significant symbol of pride, resilience, and opportunity for Indigenous communities in Central West New South Wales, particularly Wellington and Dubbo. Guided by their core slogan, “Community First,” the Black Trackers were founded to ensure that athletes from their own communities have access to major sporting platforms—opportunities that had previously been limited. The club is dedicated to opening doors, creating pathways, and ensuring inclusivity for all.
The Philippine National Rugby League embraces the CWBT’s core values, as both organisations are committed to providing opportunities for players in our communities to participate in rugby league.
We are proud to host the indigenous teams competing for the Harmony Shield and look forward to both teams from CWBT and the PNRL to fostering enduring connections and camaraderie that will last a lifetime.
Will you be at the event to cheer on both teams?

Celebrating Leadership Excellence in the Philippine National Rugby League 🇵🇭
The PNRL board are proud to recognise Johnsen Lalongisip with the organisation’s highest award as the recipient of the 2025 Philippine National Rugby League Leadership Award. Voted by his peers, this award honours Johnsen’s exceptional leadership and his commitment to the League’s guiding values: Professionalism, Nurture, Respect, and Leadership.
The PNRL’s commitment extends beyond grassroots and player development. We place a strong emphasis on cultivating local leadership and implementing robust mentoring programmes to build a sustainable management layer that will support the organisation for years to come.
Johnsen’s ability to lead with integrity and inspire others reflects the very foundation of what makes successful organisations thrive—a strong set of values. These principles are not just words; they shape culture, drive performance, and create environments where teams can excel together.
Congratulations, Johnsen, for setting the standard and showing us that leadership anchored in values is the true game-changer.

Two weeks since the history making inaugural rugby league Asian Championships, we’d like to again congratulate Lito Ramirez our star MVP of the tournament awarding him the Erick Elefante Tamaraw player award. Voted by his coaches and peers, Lito is a player that sparks, resilience, consistent, hardworking with the never give up attitude. Congratulations again Lito, well deserved! 🇵🇭
The award is one of the highest honours as it commemorates one of the founding fathers of the Philippine National Rugby League. Erick is still an active contributor and has a passion for the sport to be accessible to local Filipinos.
