Grandmaster Arnold Narzo is a senior practitioner and the Chief Instructor of Kalis Ilustrisimo Repeticion Original, dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional Filipino blade art founded by the legendary grandmaster Antonio 'Tatang' Ilustrisimo.
Kalis Ilustrisimo is widely respected in the Filipino Martial Arts community for its direct and practical combat methods, particularly its emphasis on real blade application, timing, and strategic positioning. The system originated in Tondo, Manila, where Tatang Ilustrisimo became known as one of the most formidable swordsmen of his generation.
Grandmaster Narzo is part of the lineage passed down through the late Tony Diego, one of Tatang Ilustrisimo’s closest students and a recognized inheritor of the system. Through years of dedicated training and teaching, Grandmaster Narzo has continued the responsibility of preserving the authentic teachings and principles of Kalis Ilustrisimo.
With decades of experience in Filipino Martial Arts, Grandmaster Narzo has devoted his life to teaching the art to students from different backgrounds and martial arts disciplines. His instruction emphasizes the original combat concepts of Kalis Ilustrisimo, including proper timing, distance management, efficient movement, and the practical application of blade, stick, and empty-hand techniques.
Grandmaster Narzo actively conducts seminars, workshops, and training sessions both in the Philippines and internationally, including in the United States. His workshops are open to practitioners of various Filipino Martial Arts systems and other martial arts styles who wish to deepen their understanding of traditional Filipino blade fighting.
Through his leadership and instruction, Grandmaster Narzo continues to honor the legacy of Tatang Ilustrisimo by ensuring that the knowledge, principles, and fighting methods of Kalis Ilustrisimo remain alive and accessible to future generations of martial artists.
