Lotto, the symbol of Italian spirit, beauty and sport, starred on-stage in Jesolo as well as on TV screens all over Italy during the event that has been celebrating the beauty and charm of Italian girls for 74 years now.

The Queens of the evening were Giulia Arena, Miss Italy 2013, and Maria Selena Filippo, Miss Sport Lotto 2013. They scooped the competition from hundreds of girls selected throughout Italy and from the 63 finalists of this 74th edition of the nation’s most important beauty contest, broadcast live on Italy's La7 television channel.

Maria Selena Filippo won over the panel of judges and the audience with her Italian beauty, long dark brown hair and green eyes, as well as her lovely natural smile.

Born in Rovereto (Trento) and living in Acquaviva delle Fonti (Bari, Apulia), she is 21 years old. Almost 5’8” tall, for many years she lived in Trentino Alto Adige before moving to Apulia with her family. After finishing scientific high school, she enrolled at university where she is reading company law.

She is very passionate about sport, both as a sportswoman and a fan, and especially enjoys training at the gym where she does different activities and considers herself a real Pilates-addict.

At this event celebrating Italy’s most beautiful girls, all the Misses were wearing Lotto clothing for the time periods devoted to sport and leisure: very much admired lifestyle clothing and footwear, as shown by the many photos published in the social media following Miss Italy.

Sport and beauty, a winning combination that will be highlighted and enhanced by this partnership between Miss Italy, the country’s most famous beauty contest, and Lotto Sport Italia, the company with Italian design and a passion for sport and its values in its genes for 40 years now.

Lotto once again on top of world's tennis as Magdalena Rybarikova won the Citi Open in Washington DC on Sunday beating German Andrea Petkovic in a tight two-setter to clinch her second straight triumph in the US capital. After falling behind 4-0, the Lotto testimonial took eight consecutive games to win the first set and go up 2-0 in the second. Petkovic pushed to a tie-break in the second set but the no.7-seeded Rybarikova was just too sharp in that breaker cruising to a 64 76(2) victory.

On the 40th anniversary of the company’s foundation, Lotto scores another triumph which will be written in its annals and in those of the sporting world. In the sport that best reflects the brand’s DNA – tennis – , Lotto has accompanied many champions to victory.

And in these days it has done so in a very prestigious tournament: Wimbledon, tennis’s oldest and most representative Grand Slam trophy. Intuitions and talent have taken shape and become real in the form of Marion Bartoli and Gianluigi Quinzi; it’s been a historic weekend for the queen and the little prince, whose names have been written forever among the tennis stars.

Queen Marion is the present: tangible, powerful like her shots, earned with sacrifice, resolve and the desire to redress being runner-up in 2007. Proudly different from the other ladies players, Bartoli loves to stand out and she does so both on and off the court. And it’s precisely because of being different that she has gained renown; and it could not be otherwise in a tournament that is surprising is many ways; one in which every prediction was made and overturned. Marion has always had her sights set on her goal – victory - , she reached the final without dropping a set. She played Saturday’s final keeping a cool-head, beating Sabine Lisicki to win her first Slam. Now the young French player can raise the revered trophy and relish her moment, wearing that crown she had been dreaming of since she was a child. And how well she wears it.

Then there is the future coming through, full of promise and yet so real that he has a name and a history: Gianluigi Quinzi. This Italian player is just 17 years old but is proving to be a little prince: oozing with talent, physical strength and character, he dominated the Wimbledon Juniors tournament, where he took the final against Korea’s Chung winning in two sets (75, 76), thus becoming the second Italian, after Diego Narciso in 1987, to win London’s prestigious Championship. Gianluigi is on the right foot: he doesn’t fear losing, which is why he wins; he doesn’t let pressure or the inevitable media attention get to him. He’s proving he has what it takes: and with a little patience the crown of king is waiting.

A weekend to remember also thanks to the victory at the Tour de France 2013 seventh stage of Peter Sagan of the Cannondale cycling team, of which Lotto is technical sponsor, last Friday.

These exceptional sports results have offered to the Lotto brand and its products an amazing visibility at worldwide level: on newspapers, magazines, TV and web.
