While Egay earned his stripes with his three point bombs. Randy albeit undersized, manned the post and contributed solid post plays.

LTB SEASON 2 WRAP-UP

The just-concluded basketball competition left fans on the edge of their seats, showcasing a thrilling display of talent and teamwork. As the dust settles, it’s time to highlight the standout performers who made this season unforgettable.

MVP: Gaspar Boco
With an electrifying performance throughout the tournament, Boco soared above the competition to claim the MVP title. His ability to score from anywhere on the court, combined with clutch assists, made him the heart and soul of his team. Fans will remember his high flying acts as a highlight of the season.

This elite squad exemplified basketball excellence, with each player contributing significantly to their team’s success. Each have contributed significantly on the scoring end, while also providing excellent contribution on the defensive end.

Best Center Mitch Arce dominated the paint, using his height and agility to sn**ch rebounds effortlessly. With a swift move, he powered through defenders, scoring with a decisive layup. His presence inside turned the game, establishing him as the ultimate tower of power.

While Top Power Forward Aris Bautista showcased his explosive power drive, slicing through the defense with unmatched speed. With a keen eye, he delivered pinpoint drop passes to his teammates, creating open shots. Then, effortlessly stepping back, he scored from the outside, proving his versatility as a lethal scorer.

High scoring Wilson Carpio thrives in an open court offense, his speed and agility creating space for explosive plays. With a quick release, he consistently drains long three-point baskets, leaving defenders scrambling. His ability to stretch the floor makes him a lethal scorer, transforming every possession into a scoring opportunity.

While top PG Almar Lacanlale is the consummate point guard, masterfully distributing the ball to set up his teammates for success. Known for his clutch shooting, he consistently knocks down crucial three-point baskets throughout the season. His blend of playmaking and scoring makes him an invaluable asset on the court.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE SEASON

Roderick “Sarge" Gaurano
Sarge earned this honor for his relentless defense and shot-blocking ability. His presence in the paint disrupted opponents’ offenses, earning him respect as one of the toughest defenders in the league.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

Nold Aguas
Nold stood out not just for his excellent marksmanship on a corner three but also for hid exemplary conduct. He consistently encouraged teammates and opponents alike, proving that true sportsmanship shines even amid competition.

September 29, 2024 Games

DELTA BLUE 112 vs ALPHA RED 106

In a thrilling battle for third place, Delta Blue faced off against Alpha Red, where the tension escalated as Alpha Red mounted a spirited rally in the fourth period, driven by Gardie Briones (15 pts) JC Macalla (21 pts) and Deric Calinaya (25 pts). Their relentless effort forced the game into overtime, where Bernard Otico (14 points) showcased his skills, keeping Alpha Red in the lead for much of the extra period. Just when it seemed like Alpha Red would seize victory, Ric Go made a crucial block that shifted the momentum, followed by a scoring burst from Ariel Realubit (17 points). Go's contributions in scoring and playmaking (8 pts, 4 assists) especially in the crucial stages of the 4th and overtime period proved vital, turning the tide back in favor of Delta Blue. Despite the intense competition, Lance Pangilinan’s (28 pts, 7 rbs, 2 assists) consistent brilliance throughout the game earned him the title of best player, solidifying Delta Blue's victory.

BRAVO BROWN vs CHARLIE PINK

In a high-stakes championship game, Bravo Brown faced off against Charlie Pink, with the undefeated Browns defending their top position against the second-place challengers. The first half showcased a fierce battle between star players Wilson Carpio (38 pts) and season MVP Gaspar Boco (33 pts) keeping the score tight until midway through the third period. Bravo Brown’s Baste Baniqued (25 pts), Ronald Paa (24 pts) and Aris Bautista (22 pts) fought hard while ace point guard Almar Lacanlale was limited to a below his norm production (10 pts) because of foul trouble as early as the first half, but it was Egay Buelo's (30 pts) explosive three-point barrage that shifted the momentum decisively. With each swish, the game transformed from a close contest into a commanding rout, leading Bravo Brown to clinch the Championship Trophy. Buelo’s spectacular performance not only secured the win but also earned him the prestigious title of Championship Game MVP.

CURTAINS DOWN FOR THE GERRY BENITEZ CUP
The LTB Club recently wrapped up an exhilarating basketball tournament that brought together friends for a weekend of competitive fun. Over 2 months, teams battled it out on the court, showcasing their skills and teamwork. The tournament kicked off with an opening ceremony that highlighted the camaraderie among players. Each match was filled with thrilling moments, including buzzer-beaters and impressive displays of athleticism. In the end, TEAM BRAVO BROWN emerged as the ultimate champions, clinching victory in a hard fought battle.

The MVP award went to high flying guard GASPAR BOCO of CHARLIE PINK TEAM whose outstanding performance was pivotal in leading his team to glory throughout the elimination round. Although falling short on the penultimate game as Championship Best Player went to EGAY BUELO whose marksmanship was instrumental to his team, BRAVO BROWN, copping the top plum. Participants enjoyed not just the games, but also the food and shared stories, deepening their friendships. The tournament fostered a sense of community, with everyone cheering each other on. As the event concluded, plans for next season’s tournament began to take shape. Overall, it was a memorable celebration of basketball and friendship that left everyone eager for more. Thank largely to the excellent leadership of DR GERARDO BAUTISTA and the astute funds stewardship and collection of Secretariat/Treasurer JONATHAN DE JESUS. As well as the wealth of collective experience of all COMMITTEE members especially ARIEL REALUBIT.

September 15, 2024 Games

Charlie Pink vs Alpha Red
In what surprisingly was a very contested game long battle, Charlie Pink led by the prolific duo of Wilson Carpio and Gaspar Boco kept the game from arms length as the resurgent Alpha Red is humming on all cylinders getting meaningful contributions from all players particularly the high flying JC Macalla (39 pts) keeping the game within arms reach. However, undersized Pink Center - Randy Pangilinan, delivered a yeoman’s job dominating from the inside as well as game long bombs from the trifecta line scoring a team high 50 points as well as countless of rebounds most critically within the last 3 minutes of the game dousing the last attempts of the Red Team from an upset victory.

Bravo Brown vs Delta Blue
The Deltas, particularly Ace Gunner Lance Pangilinan (49 pts) seems to have a mission in mind as Blue Team dominated majority of the game. However, the triumvirate of Aris Bautista (39 points), Almar Lacanlale (38 pts) and Ronald Paa (37 pts) delivered a timely strong push near the end of regulation sn**ching what seemed to be an upset loss for the sweet W and an unblemished record. Aside from gaining team high scoring, Aris Bautista hauled down 7 key rebounds earning him the game honors.

September 8, 2024 Games

1st Game - Charlie Pink vs Delta Blue
The first game featured 2 in the running teams for the right to take part in the championship game. However, Gaspar Boco made timely baskets to stymied the efforts of Bravo Blue game long to help earn Charlie Pink the W and eventually earn best player honors.

2nd Game Bravo Brown 120 vs Alpha Red 102
League leading Bravo Brown made short work of Alpha Red last Sunday with a walkover win. With the game result already concluded by the end of the 2nd Quarter, the game became a shooting drill with both teams long gunners taking center stage. Team Captain Egay Buelo drilled in 51 points with a mastery display of marksmanship.
