With over 50 years of existence, The UST Mountaineering Club invites you to be a part of its growing family.

Climb mountains, visit beaches, and reach new heights!

08/12/2025

I’m Shannon Pe, External Vice President of the UST Mountaineering Club, and today I’m celebrating another year of life and adventure! 🏔️✨

As I look back on my journey as a Thomasian Mountaineer, I’m reminded that strength on the trail doesn’t start on the summit—it starts with how we nourish ourselves every day. Good nutrition fuels our climbs, sharpens our minds, and keeps our community healthy enough to keep chasing higher peaks together.

This year, my wish is simple: that we continue promoting a culture where proper nutrition, mindful eating, and overall wellness become part of every mountaineer’s lifestyle. May we keep uplifting one another, caring for our bodies as much as we care for the mountains, and living out the values of competence, compassion, and commitment in every step—on and off the trail.

Thank you, and here’s to more climbs, more growth, and more nourished adventures ahead! 🌿⛰️

Our first summit this academic year opens a new chapter for the UST Mountaineering Club. ⛰️✨

Mt. Sembrano welcomed us with warm trails and steady climbs that tested both endurance and teamwork. For some, it was a return to the mountains; for others, their first hike with the USTMC community. Every step became a chance to reconnect, share stories, and move forward together.

Reaching the summit offered more than a view of Laguna de Bay, it reminded us of the effort, commitment, and camaraderie that define our club.

To everyone who joined, thank you for bringing heart, grit, and the spirit of USTMC. Here’s to new trails, deeper connections, and all the climbs waiting for us this academic year.

Held at UP Diliman DMST Complex, the UST Mountaineering Club successfully conducted its Basic Mountaineering Courses 1 & 2 for this year’s batch of aspiring mountaineers. 🌿

Throughout the sessions, participants learned the fundamentals of mountaineering—trail movement, campsite setup, knot-tying, outdoor safety, and essential Leave No Trace principles. But more than the technical skills, BMC 1 & 2 became a space for shared stories, new connections, and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors.

This year’s BMC strengthened the spirit of camaraderie that defines the USTMC family, shaping mountaineers who are not only skilled but grounded in responsibility, respect, and community. 🧭💛

We extend our gratitude to everyone who joined, supported, and contributed to the success of this year’s BMC. Here’s to stronger foundations, meaningful journeys, and the many mountains we’ll soon conquer together. 🌄

Last October 12, 2025, the UST Mountaineering Club held its first General Assembly for AY 2025–2026. ⛰️

We welcomed a new batch of aspiring mountaineers and reconnected with officers and alumni in an afternoon filled with stories, shared experiences, and excitement for the year ahead.

General Assembly 1 served as the opening space for the community to meet, engage, and learn more about the values and culture that define the USTMC family. Through the activities and interactions throughout the event, we strengthened the spirit of camaraderie that guides us in every climb and initiative we take. 🧭💛

We extend our gratitude to everyone who joined and contributed to the success of this gathering. Here’s to a meaningful season ahead and the many trails we will walk—and conquer—together. 🌄

I’m Erica Fiscaro, President of the UST Mountaineering Club, and it's my birthday today! 🌿

As I celebrate another year around the sun, I’m reminded of what truly inspires me as a Thomasian Mountaineer.

To me, being a competent mountaineer isn’t only about having the strength and resilience to climb independently—it’s about being dependable for others, caring for the environment, and fostering safe spaces within our community. Every trek reminds me that the journey becomes more meaningful when we uplift one another and leave every trail better than we found it.

May we continue to climb with purpose, protect the mountains we love, and create spaces where every mountaineer can grow freely and confidently. Let’s keep embodying the spirit of competence, compassion, and commitment in all that we do. 💛

Thank you, and may we all continue to reach new summits—together!
