I had never reached 180mph ball speed prior to 2020. Here we are at the end of the year. Pretty happy with my progress considering the many constraints and challenges. Besides... a 46 year old shouldn't even be doing this, right? 😅

Anyway, someone recently asked me why I constantly subject myself to this type of voluntary hardship. My answer is simple. AUTHENTICITY. I want my students to know that this isn't just something I understand conceptually. The last thing I want to be is another so-called expert giving advice on things I've never actually done.

My encouragement to everyone is if I can do it, so can you. It's definitely not easy. Because there's a lot of facets to it. But don't ever believe that you're either born with it or you're not👍

Bingo! The training aspect plays a big part. So do technique and equipment. But the mindset is just as important. If you want to see your clubhead speed go up, you have to be willing to hit some bad shots first. You're going to look stupid for a while.. until you get to the point where your fairway finders are longer than your opponent's bombs. As Rory said... make the target irrelevant for the time being 👍
