Green Briefs Crowned Champions After Pulling Away in Second Half
August 3, 2025 – UNC Sports Palace, 6:00 PM

In a thrilling finale to the season, Green Briefs emerged victorious in the championship game against OG Law, 68-57, securing the title with a composed and commanding second-half performance at the UNC Sports Palace.

The match started as a tightly contested battle, with both teams trading baskets and defensive stops in a back-and-forth first half. But as the third quarter unfolded, Green Briefs found their rhythm—tightening up defensively and finding easier scoring opportunities to break the game open.

Leading the charge was Aguirre, who delivered a spectacular all-around performance with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 16 assists, earning him the Finals MVP honors. Aguirre’s court vision and leadership kept the offense flowing and helped create opportunities for teammates throughout the game.

Green Briefs center and Season MVP Beriña also stepped up with a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, along with 4 assists and 3 steals. Verzosa and Maleniza contributed key baskets, while role players like Balleber and Lozano provided hustle, defense, and ball movement to maintain their lead.

OG Law kept the game competitive, with Jojo Aganan posting a solid 14-point, 11-rebound outing, and Val, Ayen, and Albert combining for 27 points. Despite their efforts, they couldn't withstand the Green Briefs’ third-quarter surge and strong team play down the stretch.

The victory marks a defining moment for Green Briefs, who now hold the championship crown after a well-earned win—fueled by depth, defense, and their MVP playmaker at the helm.

Rookies Claim Third Place with Commanding Win Over Team Paps
August 3, 2025 – UNC Sports Palace, 4:00 PM

The Rookies capped off their season with an emphatic 96-71 victory over Team Paps in the battle for third place, held at the UNC Sports Palace.

The Rookies stormed out of the gates with a dominant first half, establishing a strong lead thanks to their aggressive defense and efficient ball movement. However, Team Paps mounted a brief comeback in the third quarter, taking a narrow 41-40 lead behind a scoring explosion from Tria, who dropped a game-high 51 points along with 14 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

Despite the momentum shift, the Rookies quickly regrouped. Led by the all-around brilliance of Magno—who tallied 29 points, 14 assists, and 6 rebounds—the team pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 56-point second-half outburst. San Juan and Ricafort added 22 and 19 points respectively, while Nisorrada was a force on both ends, recording a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds along with 5 blocks and 4 steals.

Team Paps struggled to keep up despite Tria’s heroic effort, with support from Arteta (8 points, 7 rebounds) and Naval (8 points, 8 rebounds), but ultimately fell short against the Rookies' balanced offensive attack.

The win not only secured third place for the Rookies but also showcased the team’s depth and potential for the coming seasons.
