Exciting MMA Event at Maasin City Gym, Leyte - A Night of Thrilling Victories

In an electrifying night of mixed martial arts action, the Maasin City Gym in Leyte played host to an unforgettable event on August 8th, 2023. The event was spearheaded by Councilor Gani Mercado, whose dedication to promoting sports and community engagement was evident throughout the evening.

A special appreciation goes out to the distinguished international judge and MMA referee, Joey Kawaling Lepiten, a pride of Maasin. Lepiten’s expertise and presence added an extra layer of excitement to the already intense matches.

The event showcased a series of gripping matches, with fighters from various teams displaying their skills and determination. The victors of the night were celebrated for their outstanding performances:

Match 1:
Elmer Masayon of Yawyan Macrohon emerged victorious by Verbal Tapout against Mark Bioc of Ormoc Top Team.

Match 2:
Christian Yare from Ormoc Top Team secured a win by tapout against Christian Baguion of Freestyle Ormoc Chapter.

Match 3:
Reggie Parilla representing Freestyle Ormoc Chapter claimed the win by Unanimous Decision over Ferdinand Abanilla from Ormoc Top Team.

Match 4:
Marjun Loreno of Ormoc Top Team showcased his strength with a Knockout victory against Junrey Relavo of Redneos Iron Gladiators - Cebu.

Match 5:
Arch Jid Parilla, also from Freestyle Ormoc Chapter, secured a win by Unanimous Decision against Michael Rebayos of Redneos Iron Gladiators - Cebu.

Match 6:
Jalanie Sumagayan of Survival MMA triumphed with a Unanimous Decision victory against Jimboy Silara of Bantayan Island Warriors.

Match 7:
Nico Ariza representing Cebu MMA demonstrated his skill with a Submission via Guillotine Choke victory over Mark Tupaz of Ormoc Top Team.

Match 8:
Romeo Bestudio from MAMMAC claimed victory by Split Decision against Dominic Gonzales of Cebu MMA.

Match 9 (Co-Main Event):
Ruel Compuesto from Ormoc Top Team delivered a stunning Knockout against Edwin Dagohoy of Albuera MMA.

Match 10 (Main Event):
Norman Yrastorza representing Survival MMA secured a dominant win by Ground and Pound against Cesar Bestudio of MAMMAC.

The event was a true testament to the dedication and skill of these athletes, leaving the audience in awe of their prowess.
