I’ve been freediving since 2000 when I was 15 years old. Every day during lunch break, I’d dive and collect seafood to bring to my grandmother to cook.

Train with Giorgio!
Train like no others!

Some people have asked me why I don't post that ofter on social media,
Well the answer is that I have so many things to say, that I am afraid that it will take so long and sometimes I don't even know where to start,
But yesterday I was quite happy with my trainings that I decided to set an earlier alarm today to allow me having some extra time to write this post
So here we go:

Training Day of September 18

3.55 wake up
4.30 1h of breath work + stretching
5.30 10k run ( slow focus on easy zone)
7.00 first meal of the day
8.00 2h gym session ( pull day focus on back)
10.30 second and last meal of the day
12 to 4 pm ( meetings)
4 to 6 pm 2 hours freediving ( open water )
7 to 7.30 pm breath work again
7.30 bed time

Remarks:

1
the run went incredibly well
Out of my expectations I was able to close 10 k I less then 1 hour by remaining on a lower heart rate...
In my entire life I was able to run 10 k below 1 hour just 2 times..
And my memory of the previous one I that was very exhausting and also I remember injury my self that day...
Yesterday 10 k run felt amazing,
My body was light and my movements were smooth,
Regarding my Gym session
I can only say that I push my self to my very limits... and this is my main goal in this season..
Currently I took a pause from Freediving competitions and the main reason is that I felt weak somehow...

So I want to build a level of strength that is still unknown to me...

2

Regarding my sunset freediving session
I wanted to enjoy and at the same time I wanted to maintain some of my Eq skills
So I di 5 dives to 20 meters on no fins style
In each dive the focus was on:
Surface mouthfill and hands free..
I'm each dive I tried to reach the bottom with some air left in my mouth to spit out...

Overall was a great day...
And I'm now ready for another intense day...

Ps
Since my last freediving competition
On September 5
I have have been training with this kind of routine 7 days a week...
And the feelings are absolutely amazing
I feel more happy, more driven, more strong,
My resting heart rate is better..

Much more to come....
Stay tuned!

Giorgio

I had a little set back, just enough to feel great again.😊
When I woke up this morning, I was worried about my dive because lately I haven’t feel in good shape but I was wrong. During the dive I felt stronger than ever.
Looking forward for a massive improvement over the next 40 days.

Sometimes, we forget the challenges we’ve overcome. Even the toughest people can lose sight of how resilient they truly are. Tough times can cloud our minds, making it easy to forget our inner strength. It’s important to constantly remind ourselves of the power within us. True strength comes from remembering where we’ve been and what we’ve endured. There are times when we need to return to the basics of life, to start from scratch. Every day, we have the opportunity to remind ourselves of how strong we truly are.

In the past 2 months I’ve been under achieving failing 3 competitions in a row. A total of 9 failed national record attempts but today I’ve learned a lot how to refocus, how to let go, how to accept defeat.
After my performance I went diving with two of my students and I was super happy to perform at 25 meters RV Dive.
It reminds me to always to do what I love and to don’t get stress about something that I can’t achieve right now.

My next competition will be focused on depth and what would you like to see me perform? FIM or CWTB?

Thank you to for coaching despite all the odds.

The saddest White card ever‼️

Yesterday I felt touching the very dark bottom in my life and in my carrier,
I was sad, I was broken 💔 in many ways, I was miserable and the pain was very hard to manage in absence of breathing
I felt suffocating from the first second I started to hold my breath,
I was deeply crying inside my googles and nose clip and wanted to breathe so bad and shout loud
But I had to keep calm and controlling that pain,
I guess for majority of people is already incredible being able to hold your breath for 4 min and 58 seconds is such horrible depressed mental state...
But for me has been my seventh big failure for this year and it definitely had a huge impact on my Body and mind...
Setting certain goals in life can be sometimes scary indeed..

Eventually after a long and painful day started at 5 am, and finished at 9.30 pm I was able to have a very good sleep according to my “best friend “ @garminph G1 who is always worry for me in general”
Probably thanks to pretty decent training I did with my former student and present coach @chi_c_superal
At around 7 to 8 pm...
That training was able to cool down the pain and give me a bit of hope and confidence...

Today is a new day I feel a bit better for now,
All I can think about is that soon I’ll start again more things I love and I will rebuild my self stronger then ever....

Haters can be very powerful, they can destroy you as soon as you put your guard down,
You must be unbreakable always even when you sleep, you must build a shield 🛡 so strong so thick and so hard to stay protected and safe all the time.

You can't relay on friends, anyone can betray you and pull you down while they try to climb over you.
In the end you came to this wold alone and alone you will leave so get use to loneliness get use to pain and get use to any sort of suffering,
Is a tough place out there...

Yesterday the haters have won,
Today they might win again..
Tomorrow let's see...
Hope to find the strength I need for this in every breath I take, in every prayers i offer,
in every mile I run. In every pound I lift,
In every meter I descent deep into the dark ocean in order to rise again victorious.

Thank you Chi C. Superal for coming all the way from ilo ilo to help me in this difficult moment
And sorry to my Wife Debora Celedio Mariotti for not being yet strong enough as a husband

This time I’m facing one of the biggest set back of my life and I am trying my very best to deal with all the pain involved on this.
Static apnea is probably one of the most difficult thing in life that you could do when you sad, when you’re broken, miserable when you feel that your life is falling apart and you don’t know even know when to start to fix it. Honestly, I can’t wait to train in other areas of Freediving, starting from Sunday afternoon I will start to focus for a depth adaptation as my next challenge would be a depth challenge.

Why Uddiyana Bandha is essential for freedivers?

Diaphragm flexibility is necessary to have a more relaxed, safe, and enjoyable dive. Some of us are naturally more flexible than others, but for those of us who are not, Uddiyana Bandha can become our best friend.

Benefits of Uddiyana Bandha include:

Improving the range of movement of the diaphragm, and an increased ability to raise it higher into the chest.

Lowering the residual volume of the lungs, which results in a smaller ratio to the total lung capacity, and allows for deeper Frenzel equalization.

Reducing the feeling of pressure on the chest during a dive. This is from the diaphragm’s ability to move up in the chest, which reduces the space and negative pressure created by the compression of the lungs.

Teaching better control of the epiglottis, which increases the freediver’s ability to keep air in the mouth when performing mouthfill equalization (i.e. when you have difficulty due to losing your “fill”).

Reducing the chance of a throat injury due to pressure, while also reducing the risk of lung squeeze.

Training the body’s overall adaptation for depth since it simulates some of the effects of water pressure during a dive.
