The course of the 50km was wide and fairly flat on the middle section. The start and finish was tough for me since I was on a Santa Cruz Heckler SL. It was fun racing XC again. Lots of loose rocks on the course, had riders lining up on the hard pack single track. But since it was fireroad most of the way I just passed though those gnarly rocks and ruts. We had a few river crossings, not to deep. Luckily we had cloudy skies up above.
On the back half, we had a 1-2% grade and I felt my legs wearing out from exhaustion doing threshold all the way. Finally caught up with the top 3 overall of the 50km on the last 6km may be... man these young ones are super strong. Had a hard time dropping them even on an ebike. When I hit the paved road this is when I realized they were fighting for overall, gave way to give him the proper finish he deserved, but I still wanted to finish sub 2hrs😅

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE THE SHRED:
EVENT SCHEDULE
🕖 TMBP opens – 7AM
🕗 SCB check-in at the launchpad – 8AM
🕘 Complimentary food & drinks start – 9AM
🕚 Program starts – 11AM, followed by raffles & giveaways!
