TUESDAY | 06-02-2026:
SPIRITUAL GROWTH IS ALWAYS DEPENDENT ON OUR VITAL CONNECTION TO GOD.

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 27:2-13KEY BIBLE VERSE: The people are like the dead branches of a tree, broken off and used for kindling beneath the cooking pots. Israel is a foolish and stupid nation, for its people have turned away from God. Therefore, the one who made them will show them no pity or mercy. (Isaiah 27:11)

Isaiah compares the state of Israel’s spiritual life with dead branches that are broken off and used to make fires. Trees in Scripture often represent spiritual life. The trunk is the source or channel of strength from God, giving life to the branches, which represent the people who serve him. Tree branches sometimes waver and blow in the wind. Like Israel, they may dry up from internal rottenness and become useless for anything except building a fire. What kind of branch are you? If you are withering spiritually, check to see if you are vitally connected to God.

LEARNING

Why is learning important to our relationship with God?

MONDAY | 06-01-2026:

SPIRITUAL GROWTH INVOLVES HEARING, LEARNING, AND FOLLOWING.

BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 5:1-21KEY BIBLE VERSE: Moses called all the people of Israel together and said, “Listen carefully to all the laws and regulations I am giving you today. Learn them and be sure to obey them!” (Deuteronomy 5:1)

The people had entered into a covenant with God, and Moses commanded them to listen, learn, and obey his statutes. Christians also have entered into a covenant with God (through Jesus Christ) and should be responsive to what God expects. Moses’ threefold command to the Israelites is excellent advice for all God’s followers. Hearing is absorbing and accepting information about God. Learning is understanding its meaning and implications. Following is putting into action all we have learned and understood. All three parts are essential to a growing relationship with God.

SATURDAY | 05-16-2026:

In what ways can we humans bless others?
BIBLE READING: Psalm 103
KEY BIBLE VERSE: Praise the LORD, I tell myself; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. (Psalm 103:1, NLT)

WE CAN BLESS GOD.
Everything everywhere is to bless the Lord: all angels—mighty ones and heavenly hosts—and all his works! Blessing God means remembering all he has done for us (103:2), fearing him and obeying his commands (103:17-18), and doing his will (103:21).

Does your life bless the Lord? David’s praise focused on God’s glorious deeds. It is easy to complain about life, but David’s list gives us plenty for which to praise God—he forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from death, crowns us with love and compassion, satisfies our desires, and gives righteousness and justice.

We receive all of these without deserving any of them. No matter how difficult your life’s journey, you can always count your blessings—past, present, and future. When you feel as though you have nothing for which to praise God, read David’s list.

FRIDAY | 05-15-2026:
BIBLE READING: Ephesians 1:3-14
KEY BIBLE VERSE: How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ. (Ephesians 1:3, NLT)

JESUS IS GOD’S GREATEST BLESSING.
“Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing” means that in Christ we have all the benefits of knowing God—chosen for salvation, being adopted as his children, forgiveness, insight, the gifts of the Spirit, power to do God’s will, the hope of living forever with Christ.

Because we have an intimate relationship with Christ, we can enjoy these blessings now. The heavenly realms means that these blessings are eternal, not temporal. They are from Christ’s spiritual realm, not the earthly realm of the goddess Artemis.

Other references to the heavenly realms in Ephesians include 1:20; 2:6; 3:10. They show Christ in his victorious, exalted role as ruler of all.

THURSDAY | 05-14-2026:

In what ways does God bless?

BIBLE READING: Genesis 12:1-7
KEY BIBLE VERSE: I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:3, NLT)

GOD BLESSES THROUGH HIS ETERNAL PLANS.
God planned to develop a nation of people he would call his own. He called Abram from the godless, self-centered city of Ur to a fertile region called Canaan, where a God-centered, moral nation could be established. Though small in dimension, the land of Canaan was the focal point for most of the history of Israel as well as for the rise of Christianity. This small land given to one man, Abram, has had a tremendous impact on world history. God promised to bless Abram and make him great, but there was one condition.

Abram had to do what God wanted him to do. This meant leaving his home and friends and traveling to a new land where God promised to build a great nation from Abram’s family. Abram obeyed, walking away from his home for God’s promise of even greater blessings in the future. God may be trying to lead you to a place of greater service and usefulness for him.

Don’t let the comfort and security of your present position make you miss God’s plan for you.
