Kinsey Stuns Seeded Opponent, Reaches U11 Singles Quarterfinals in Thailand
By FELET Sports Desk
Rayong, Thailand
Jaleesa Kinsey Condez delivered a composed and impressive run at the SPRC–Caltex Badminton Championship 2026, reaching the quarterfinals of the Girls Singles U11 division against a strong international field.
Opening her campaign with controlled and confident performances, Kinsey advanced through the early rounds with minimal disruption. Her momentum led to a defining Round of 32 clash against the No. 5 seed, a match that marked her breakthrough in the tournament.
In a tightly contested encounter, Kinsey secured a three game victory, 21-16, 16-21, 21-10, eliminating the seeded opponent. The result highlighted her ability to manage pressure and respond decisively in key moments.
She followed this with another steady performance in the Round of 16, winning in straight games, 21-17, 21-18, to book her place in the quarterfinals.
Her run ended against the tournament’s top seed in the quarterfinal stage. Despite the loss, reaching the final eight as an unseeded player stands out as a commendable achievement, particularly after defeating a seeded opponent along the way.
In doubles, Kinsey and her partner exited in the Round of 32 against a seeded pair. However, her singles campaign clearly defined her tournament performance.
Behind this result is the steady guidance of her father, Jay Condez, Head Coach of JCBT. His disciplined approach to training and athlete development continues to shape Kinsey into a confident and competitive player on the international stage.
Kinsey’s performance in Thailand reflects strong progression and readiness to compete against top players in her category. It signals continued growth moving forward.
