Bonnie was our first student when we started Shama Yogshala. We have had the pleasure of having her practice at the Shala since we started!
Seeing Bonnie at the Shala everyday is inspiring and motivating, to say the least. It is because of students like her that we wake up everyday and choose to do what we do at Shama Yogshala. A woman of few words, she has silently touched us with her light - her discipline, commitment, maturity and humility.
Yoga is not about what we get out of it. But who become in our journey. Thank you, Bonnie, for reminding us this always! 🙏🏼❤️

Tata started practicing with us in November 2025. What started as a few drop-in classes eventually shaped into a regular practice.
Being an artist herself, Tata’s practice shaped up with flair and confidence. She didn’t just pick up movements mechanically but added her signature touch to every movement with grace and flair. It has also been a pleasure to practice with Tata as she resonates with rhythm, progression and intensity.
In her own words - “I’ve become more flexible and aware of how my body moves. Stretching feels more intentional and freeing, and I’ve noticed improved mobility overall. My body feels more open, loose, and responsive compared to before.”
Thank you for gracing our shala with your presence and being a part of us 🙏🏼❤️

10 distinct categories of sequences, exploring different movement patterns, energetic themes, and areas of the body, thoughtfully developed by us, will be scheduled through the month to have a mindful and structured approach to practice.
Whether your intention is to cultivate a sustainable yoga lifestyle, develop specific movement skills, deepen your personal practice, or simply immerse yourself in a meditative and invigorating flow, the program offers space for all levels of practitioners to explore with awareness and consistency.

As we continue to refine the practice of Vinyasa Krma Yoga, we have developed 10 distinct signature categories of sequences designed to deepen the practice with greater structure, clarity, and intention.
With a new flow offered each day of the month, every class presents a fresh experience while remaining grounded in the foundational principles of breath, movement, and conscious awareness.
Rooted in the lineage-based teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, Vinyasa Krma is a systematic and intelligent approach to Vinyasa Yoga — thoughtfully simplified and made accessible for the modern-day practitioner, without losing the depth and integrity of the tradition.

Grateful is all that we are.
To our students, teachers, and community.
Because none of this would be possible without You!
As an expression of gratitude, we are dedicating May 30 as Gratitude Day — a celebration of community, practice, and meaningful connection.
To mark the occasion, we have curated a diverse range of donation-based offerings across various disciplines, made possible by the generosity and presence of our teachers.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the teachers from for coming onboard and contributing their time, knowledge, and energy to this special day.
Thank you!🙏🏼

Yoga = Meditation = Conscious Breathwork
All those poses without the correct breathwork is just performance.
Breath is the physical handle for influencing Prana.
The idea is that Prana rides on the breath, even though breath itself is only the gross physical expression.
Prana is not “generated” as much as it is cultivated, conserved, and directed. The yogic idea is that human beings already possess it, but most people dissipate it through stress, distraction, poor breathing, overstimulation, and unconscious living.
