OUR TEAM | Double Helix Multisport (DHMS) is a vibrant community of multisport enthusiasts hailing from various parts of Negros Occidental. Our team is a diverse mix of athletes united by our passion for sports, fitness, and camaraderie. We come together to support one another in our athletic pursuits, celebrate our achievements, and push our limits—whether on the track, in the water, or on the road. OUR INSPIRATION | The name "Double Helix Multisport" is inspired by the intricate structure of DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid. DNA is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms, carrying the vital instructions for how an organism develops, survives, and reproduces. The DNA molecule is shaped like a double helix, a spiral that elegantly stores, protects, replicates, and repairs the genetic code. Just as each base in DNA plays a crucial role in the overall function of the organism, we believe that every effort—no matter how big or small—matters in the grand scheme of our community and society. Each member's contribution to the team, whether in training, competition, or support, is essential to our collective success. Moreover, the human genome consists of about 3 billion bases, with more than 99% of those bases being the same in all people. This remarkable similarity is a reminder that, despite our differences, we are all connected. At DHMS, it is this shared love for sport and the joy it brings that binds us together as one family. OUR ADVOCACY | Double Helix Multisport is committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment for the youth of Pulupandan and nearby municipalities and cities. We aim to provide a safe space where young people can engage in physical activities, build connections with their peers, and develop valuable life skills. Through multisport activities—whether as a hobby or competitive sport—we strive to offer opportunities for personal growth, character building, and community involvement. We believe that by empowering the youth through sport, we can help shape future leaders and active citizens.
