Initial Talks for a stronger Aquatics Program in the Province of Tarlac.
Initial talks were held between the Province of Tarlac, under the patronage of Hon. Governor Christian Yap, and Swim League Philippines (SLP), represented by SLP President Fred Galang Ancheta, SLP Executive Director Philbert Papa, and SLP Directors Rolando Sarmiento and Zaldy Lara.
The discussions focused on building a comprehensive, long term aquatics development program for the Province of Tarlac, including:
🏊🏽♂️ DROWN FREE PHILIPPINES INITIATIVE – TARLAC
A grassroots water safety and learn to swim program designed to help make every Filipino child a swimmer and a lifesaver.
🏊🏻♂️ THE GOVERNOR’S CUP & SIGNATURE SLP SWIM MEETS
The development of major competitive swimming events that will provide athletes with meaningful opportunities to compete, develop, and represent their communities.
🏊🏾♂️ LAUNCH OF THE TARLAC AQUATICS FEDERATION
A unified platform for coaches, athletes, schools, clubs, teachers, officials, and aquatics stakeholders throughout the province.
🏊🏾♂️ COACHES’ SEMINARS & TECHNICAL OFFICIALS TRAINING
Strengthening the technical knowledge and professional development of coaches and officials while promoting consistent standards in aquatics.
🏊🏼♂️ STANDARDIZATION OF AQUATICS IN PUBLIC & PRIVATE SCHOOLS
Working toward a more organized and standardized approach to swimming and aquatic education across schools in the province.
The talks also included the introduction of the expanding SLP aquatic disciplines and development leagues:

✅ OPEN WATER LEAGUE PHILIPPINES
✅ MULTISPORT LEAGUE PHILIPPINES
These initiatives will complement the upcoming 1 View 1 Legacy Luzon Leg, creating additional opportunities for athletes and communities to discover the many disciplines of aquatics.
The partnership envisions a Blue and Green Sports Program using sport not only to develop champions, but also to promote water safety, environmental stewardship, sports tourism, discipline, leadership, and community development.
At its heart, the program will be God centered, athlete centered, community centered, family centered and future centered, while supporting the national direction toward stronger grassroots sports development, wider participation, athlete development, and a more sustainable Philippine sports ecosystem.
The leaders will reconvene for the formal signing of a Mutual Agreement, marking the next step toward a long term partnership for the development of aquatics in Tarlac.
