Shuttecocks is one of the most expensive equipments in playing recreational or compettive badminton.. not only that this is not re usable just like in tennis or basketball.but its quite expensive costing 700-1200 per tube of 12pcs.youre lucky if your shuttlecock would last a game of 2 sets.
A good quality shuttlecock should maintain its shape, feathers and stem..we often says that if a shuttlecock feather easily break we assume that the shuttlecocks is of low quality..
badminton is the only sport that uses material from a animal which is a goose feather..thats the main reason thats why its so expensive.we are in a tropical country so the weather here is hot and dry, this greatly affects the quality of our shuttlecock specially when stored for a long time..
Dehydrated shuttlecocks makes it dry and brittle and easily break at the stem when playing .breakage will affect the flight of the shuttlecock resulting in a bad quality game.
dehumidifying your shuttlecocks will make it dense and make much durable..it will onlly take 20 seconds just to fill your tube with steam.. leave if for 30 minustes before using so that the feathes would absorbed all the moisture..

Grommets are the little black cylinders that's sit around the racket frame when the strings goes thru. their purpose is to act as cushion between the string and frame. grommets need to be replaced when they are broken or it can potentially damage the string and the frame.
grommets can break in two place. the head grommet and the body. the head is the part that sits on the outside of the frame. they prevent the string from sitting directly on the frame. if broken the tension of the string will be sitting on the frame racket and will cause intense amount of stress. If stringing at high tension the string will sink into the racket frame and may Couse the string to break even if the string is just new. Grommet should be replaced with new. Once its already have cuts deep enough to reach the frame or it will cause frequent broken strings.
