Limitless Taekwondo by Paul Romero

Lucas, 9 years old. Kyle, 10. Yosef, Barely 11.

Sports has never been about choosing the easiest path, it’s about what you do when the challenge chooses you.

These boys had already spent the entire day inside the arena. Their individual performances were over. While most athletes had already gone home, these three boys are still there and waited for one final event.

Instead of competing in their own Grade School division, they were merged into the Cadet Black Belt- Team Event. They were the only Grade School team among the list.

To be honest, we didn’t even expect them to bring home a medal in the team event, not because we doubted them — but because we all know that the Cadet Black Belt division is where the level changes. It’s where many of the country’s future National Team athletes begin to emerge. A division filled with the strongest young talents from different regions of the Philippines.

But when they were called, they didn’t see age. They didn’t see that they will be competing against athletes outside their age division, they didn’t let more physically developed athletes faze them.

They didn’t see the odds stacked against them.

They simply bowed, trusted one another, and performed with everything they had.

And from there, they didn’t just survive the Cadet division. They defeated Cadet teams.

They climbed onto the podium with a bronze medal.
To many, it’s just bronze. To us, it represents three boys who refused to be intimidated by a division they were never meant to compete in.

To our boys, years from now you may just remember the ‘bronze medal’ from this competition. But as your Coaches, we will always remember the story behind it.

𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗢 𝗧𝗨 𝗔𝗚𝗦𝗨𝗥 | 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄.

On her very first appearance at the Palarong Pambansa, Princess Micaella Y. Mendoza a Grade 5 student from Imus City proudly brought home a Silver Medal in the Elementary Girls -168CM, representing Region IV-A CALABARZON at the 2026 Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur.

During the elimination rounds on May 28, she dominated her opponents from Region I (Ilocos Region) and Region VII (Central Visayas), securing convincing 2-0 victories in both matches.

She continued her run on May 29, defeating Region VI (Western Visayas) in the quarterfinals before overcoming Negros Island Region (NIR) in the semifinals. Both matches ended in 2-0. In the Gold medal match, she faced Region 10. Where she narrowly fell 2-1, earning the Silver Medal for the Southern Tagalog Region.

Southern Tagalog representative Princess Micaella Y. Mendoza continues her strong campaign at the 2026 Palarong Pambansa after securing two dominant victories today — defeating Region I (Ilocos Region) 2-0 and Region VII (Central Visayas) 2-0.

With these wins, Mica advances to the Quarterfinals tomorrow where she will face Region VI (Western Visayas).

Just one more victory stands between her and a spot on the Palarong Pambansa podium. Let’s continue to keep her in our prayers as she fights for the region and chases her Palaro dream tomorrow.

Our students have officially arrived in Agusan del Sur for the 2026 Palarong Pambansa.
Juan Victorio Ongsiako will represent the National Capital Region (NCR) in the Secondary Boys Division, while Princess Micaella Mendoza will represent Region IV-A CALABARZON in the Elementary Girls Division, competing in the Kyorugi Event against the best of every region in the country.

The official weigh-in will take place on May 25, and the battle begins on May 28, 2026 in Bayugan City Convention Center, Agusan del Sur.
