THE FACE OF PHILIPPINE MMA
Eduard Folayang is one of the most humble and inspirational MMA fighters from the Cordillera region, often regarded as the Icon of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the Philippines. A true legend and among the greatest Filipino athletes of all time, he has continually made his mark in the sport. Congratulations, Eduard Folayang! May you continue to inspire and make all Cordillerans and Filipinos proud.
Eduard Folayang, known as "The Face of Philippine MMA”, was honored as the 2024 Sports Personality of the Year by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) at Hotel Supreme in Baguio City, Benguet on July 20.
"Receiving this award is a tremendous honor. It underscores the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving one's dreams. I am deeply grateful for this recognition, and I share it with my team, my family, and all who have supported me throughout my career.” - Eduard Folayang.
Folayang kicked off his career as a decorated wushu sanda fighter for the Philippine National Team. But his passion for martial arts pushed him into MMA, and that decision straight-up changed the game for the sport in the country.
Folayang reclaimed the World Title in 2018, cementing his status as one of the greatest Filipino mixed martial artists.
