In the heart of Manila, the National Library of the Philippines shines as a guardian of heritage. Here, Sanfo 101’s Basic Workshop has opened doors to discovery and skill, guiding participants from fundamentals to practice with passion and dedication.
Graced by Assistant Director Edgardo B. Quiros and Ms. Maricel Diaz, OIC Filipiniana Division, today’s celebration honors not only achievement but also commitment—the graduates’ pledge to safeguard culture and inspire generations. This is more than a graduation; it is the start of a journey where knowledge becomes service, and skill becomes legacy.
This is more than a closing chapter—it is the opening of countless possibilities. May your passion for conservation light the way for generations, transforming knowledge into service and skill into legacy. It also marks a historic milestone—the first graduate under the Sanfo 101 and the National Library of the Philippines collaboration—symbolizing a new chapter in art conservation and restoration in the country.

Sanfo 101 in collaboration with the National Library of the Philippines welcomes the October 2025 Basic Art Conservation & Restoration class.
Yesterday, October 9,2025, marked the exciting launch of our Basic Art Conservation Workshop on Paintings and Paper at the National Library of the Philippines.
The afternoon sessions brimmed with curiosity and discovery as our newest students took their first steps into the world of conservation—learning to mix their very first cleaning and consolidation solutions. Guided by hands-on instruction and ethical grounding, they began to understand not just the chemistry, but the care and responsibility behind every intervention.
We’re proud to welcome this diverse group of museum staff, collectors, artists, enthusiasts, and cultural workers into the conservation community—and we’re excited for the journey ahead.

Sanfo 101 Advanced 3: A Day of Art Appreciation
Art Appreciation took center stage last September 25 for the Sanfo 101 Advanced 3 class, aligning with Sanfo’s commitment to nurturing discernment, cultural empathy, and ethical engagement with the arts. The National Museum served as both classroom and catalyst, presenting a spectrum of Philippine artistic expressions that challenged students to look beyond surface aesthetics.
Through guided observation and discussion, participants examined the interplay of technique, intention, and cultural context—deepening awareness of how technique and intention converge to express identity and cultural nuance.
