Our first Aquathlon of 2026 and our first Open Water Aquathlon, what an amazing start to the year! Congratulations to our kiddos! You all did an incredible job.

Every sacrifice you made during the holiday season, every after-swim session, and every late night of training has paid off. This is the fruit of your hard work. All our kiddos made it to the podium, you truly deserve these achievements!

Dear CRST kiddos,

I wish you all the best, and most importantly, have fun at the upcoming City Meet! I know how hard you’ve prepared for this competition. We trained together, and even though I’m traveling to different places, it doesn’t mean I’ve left you. My heart will be with you all during your events: those long-distance swims, those explosive sprints, those underwaters. My roar will be there, cheering each and every one of you to push all the way to the finish.

Batang Pinoy 2025 – General Santos City 🏊‍♂️🇵🇭

And that wraps up our team’s first-ever participation in the Batang Pinoy National Swimming Championships held in General Santos City!

Five days of racing, learning, and giving it our all in this national grassroots competition. No medals this time, no podium finishes, but countless personal bests, lessons learned, and unforgettable experiences. You all showed heart, executed what we’ve been training for, and proved that progress matters more than medals. Your time to shine will come, just keep swimming, keep improving, and keep believing. 💪

I’m deeply grateful to our Pasay City coaches, officials, and most especially to the ever-supportive parents who made this possible, from your time, effort, and even financial sacrifices. Your dedication, teamwork, and love for these kids made this journey happen. 🙏

As I lead this team, I often have small talks with them about swimming and how it helped me achieve my dream of finishing my chosen course and attending my dream school through scholarships, I finished Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Mapúa.

My swimmers range from ages 10 to 17. Some of them are already thinking about what college to attend or how they can use swimming to get into college. So, three days ago, I gave them a small homework assignment with two questions:

1. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙬𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙨𝙬𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜?

2. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙬𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚?

The next day, I received 12 papers. To my surprise, many of them took my small talks to heart. Reading their answers made me emotional, but above all, proud. It felt amazing to know that I had helped open their eyes to the bigger picture.

𝙏𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙨:
Most of the swimmers got into the sport through family influence, for health reasons, or simply to try something new. Over time, many of them developed a deep love and passion for swimming.

Their future goals are inspiring, most hope to use swimming to earn scholarships and pursue higher education. A few even dream of competing internationally, becoming professional swimmers, or coaching in the future to give back to the sport.

For them, swimming is no longer just an activity. It has become a stepping stone toward their academic, athletic, and personal dreams.
