How We Determined the Overall Team Champion 🏆
Originally, the Overall Team Champion was going to be determined by taking the top three scores from each team in each level.
However, when we reviewed the final entries, we found that not all teams had three gymnasts competing in every level. Rather than automatically disadvantaging teams because of the number of gymnasts they had in a particular level, we decided to make an adjustment that would give teams a fair opportunity to compete.
To qualify for the Overall Team Champion, a team needed to have at least one gymnast competing in EACH of Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
For each qualifying team, we then took the highest-scoring gymnast from that team in each level. The five scores — one from Level 1 through Level 5 — were added together to determine the team's Overall Team Champion score.
This means that every qualifying team is represented by their highest-scoring gymnast in each of the five levels, rather than requiring three gymnasts per level.
We felt this was a fairer way to recognize teams that were able to field gymnasts across all five levels, while still giving each team's strongest performance in every level the opportunity to contribute to the overall result.

It’s amazing to see so many girls getting into fitness and sports at such a young age. With more than 400 gymnasts from 24 teams coming together at the Athletica Meet, we’ll be seeing the results of their hard work, dedication, strength, and determination shine on the floor.
Can’t wait for this weekend! 🤸🏻‍♀️
