Dear Fellow Claireans and Friends,

With the power of love that binds family and friends, we Claireans have sustained our bond through the years even if we have lost our home. Amidst the test of time and distance, we have kept ties with those here and abroad in good times and in bad. The Saint Claire Basketball League (SCBL) is one of those activities that let alumni come together to relive our wonderful memories at SCS and at the same time raise funds for a member of our family who is in need.

Our beloved AP teacher Ms. Charo Bobiles (now Mrs. Bon) was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma (lung cancer) that has metastasized to her brain. She urgently needs to undergo radiation to at least reduce the size of the lumps in her brain to prevent swelling. She will also undergo chemotherapy to treat and manage her cancer.

In this light, we are organizing a one-day 3-on-3 basketball tournament for the 3rd Season of the SCBL to be held on July 3, 2022 at the NPC Village Covered Court. Proceeds will go to Ms. Bobiles' medical expenses.

We are looking for establishments that can support our cause. Donations, preferably in cash, are most welcome. We admit that this is just a small event and we have nothing to offer but space for your company's promotional materials and verbal acknowledgement throughout the duration of the event.

Should you wish to know more about the SCBL Season 3, please feel free to contact:

We hope for your kindness and generosity. Thank you and God bless.

SCBL Season 2 Championship Game 04/12/2017

The final games for the SCBL Season 2 was held at the NPC Village Basketball Court with Team Honesty and Team Humility battling for Third Place, and Team Charity and Team Wisdom racing for the championship.

For the battle for third, both teams had small number of players who showed up. Team Humility was still headed by the Medina Boys’ hot shooting and slashing moves to the basket while Team Honesty was carried by the outside shooting of Ivan Lopez and the lay-up drives and jump shots of Niño de Guzman enabling them to take the lead early in the game.

But Team Humility fought back to make it close towards the end. In the closing seconds of the game, Team Humility got the advantage with a basket from Martin Rean Santos giving them a 1 point lead. But on the next play, Niño De Guzman hit a driving lay up with a foul to put Team Honesty up by 1. He eventually missed the free throw and time ran out giving Team Honesty the victory and the 3rd Place trophy with final score of 96-95.

The championship game did not fail to excite the crowd as it came down the wire. Having the lead early up-to the 2nd Quarter, Team Charity was in control having their biggest lead by as much as 20 during the first half.

By the start of the 3rd Quarter, Team Wisdom carefully chopped off the lead powered by a 13-0 run. It was neck and neck at the start 4th Quarter with their tight defenses on both ends of the court. All went down in the final 30 seconds of the game when Team Wisdom was leading by 2 pts, but CJ Sanciangco missed the second free throw.

On the next play, the ball was passed to SG Madamba who sank the dagger three point shot to give the lead back to Team Charity with only 1.5 seconds left on the clock. Team Wisdom had a chance to tie or win it but JC Cancio missed the 3 point shot. Final Score was 92-91.

Stacy Gem Sarandi Madamba was awarded the Season and Finals MVP.
