Happy to serve! 😊👏
This time, I got to serve the leaders and staff of SM Marikina Department Store on their HR-lead Life Learning Seminar.
We tackled Conflict Management; Levels, Skills, and Resolution Strategies.
Conflict management has to be cultural in any organization. When that happens, conflicts turn to be opportunities for open discussion, progress, and improved relationships.

Enjoyed facilitating this effective communication training for technical professionals.
We turned technical concepts into messages that connect, and structured data with brevity and assertiveness to aid business decision-making.

Glad to speak with leaders on this topic!
3 things I keep in mind in speaking and training Gen Xers.
1. They are not looking down on me.
Being younger doest not by default, make older participants think negatively about you.
That’s just your pre-conceived idea, and It is unfair to them to think that way when they don’t.
In fact, some are eager for learning, and they look forward to the training.
It is a learning session, not a rank competition.
2. Facilitation does not mean knowing everything
“A trainer must know everything” is a common misconception.
A training session is better when it is a collaboration of idea and sharing of best practices.
Facilitation is not dumping ideas, but making learning a smooth and seamless process.
Besides, It is not knowing more that gains the respect of the older audience but your alignment to what is true.
When what you are saying makes perfect sense, you connect reality with their experience. This makes you knowledgeable then credible, not mere information.
3. I came to serve- not to prove myself.
I have something of value that will support them and their leadership. I am here to give, not take validation.
I do not derive my self-worth from my work as a trainer.
That has been long resolved.
Here’s a truth many people miss: “We determine how others will perceive and deal with us.”
If you allow others to provide the basis of your worth, you are doomed. This is something you must be secured of before doing anything.
When we have proper evaluation of ourselves, we reflect that with our body and behavior. This communicates value that people respect.
And of course, respect them because this is where you beget theirs as well.

Watch me explain: “Kapag may tiyaga, may nilaga.”
I always say this on my trainings about multigenerational collaboration, for this concept to stand, we need to understand the context of other generations that made them who they are today.
This clip highlights the Gen Xers (born 1965-1980). Our workforce that are 46-61 years old.
Plus, there are certainly good things from this generation that we can learn and apply with our life today.
Iwasan magpadala ng mensahe na lagi dapat pagusapan ang Gen Z dahil challenging sila, but try to understand every generation’s context.
