ABOUT US
The Economy and Environment Group in the Philippines (EEG Philippines) was established in 2015 as part of the Resources and Environmental Economics Foundation of the Philippines (REAP). EEG Philippines focuses on building capacity for transdisciplinary research and promoting Regional collaboration in addressing global and local economic and environmental challenges. The EEG Philippines is

a partner-member of the Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA). The partner countries of EEPSEA include Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Lower Mekong Sub-region countries of Thailand, Lao PDR, and Myanmar. HOW EEG CAME ABOUT
For more than two decades, the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) has supported training and research in environmental and resource economics to strengthen local capacity in the economic analysis of environmental problems. Now that a cadre of researchers has grown in the Region, each country has attained sufficient capacity to establish in-country environmental economics organizations. In the May 2014 Researchers’ Conference of the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) it was decided to establish in-country Economy and Environment Institutes (EEIs). These EEIs would federate into a regional organization to continue the capacity building work of EEPSEA. In the Philippines EEPSEA alumni have gained experience and expertise in the field of environmental economics. Their research outputs have influenced local and national policies, contributed to community development, and enhanced academic curricula. EEPSEA alumni agreed to create a group within the Resource and Environmental Economics Foundation of the Philippines (REAP), Incorporated. Thus the Economy and Environment Group in the Philippines (EEG-Philippines) was created. OUR ORGANIZATION
The EEG-Philippines has a core group of experts of different disciplines including environmental economics, sociology, environmental science, and physical sciences. An advisory group composed of international and local experts of various disciplines provide oversight to the EEG-Philippines. The officers of REAP provide administrative support and oversight on the activities of the EEG. The core group and other members and potential members automatically become members of REAP, Inc.

We invite you to join our upcoming Ecosystem Accounting Training dated April 7-11, 2025, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily. The event will be a face-to-face training, and we will announce the venue very soon. In this training, we are honored to have Dr. Asa Jose Sajise, Dr. Herminia Francisco, Dr. Canesio Predo, Dr. Gem Castillo, and Dr. Cristino Tiburan Jr. as our resource persons for the training.

The training has limited slots, so please provide us with the following details through Google Forms below to secure your slot. It is open to all agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) and socio-economics researchers, students, and practitioners. Accepted participants will be notified and must pay a registration fee of ₱ 7,000.00. The registration period is open until April 2, 2025.
