𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Carl Dave Aseneta (Judo)

Carl Dave Aseneta, the pride of Davao, made his Batang Pinoy stint the trailblazer of his career after winning three golds on his 2011 and 2012 appearances to Philippine Sports Commission’s main grassroots program, before eventually becoming the first University of the Philippines-Diliman judoka scholar hailed from Mindanao.

Aseneta continued his young judo career in the Philippine National Games where he tallied two silver and six bronze medals in total on his PNG stint from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2018 editions.

A year after, he represented the country in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Manila, claiming the bronze medal in the Men’s -90kg. He then made an identical record at the 2022 SEA Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam and 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia both in the judo’s mixed team event.
