Disaster preparedness saves lives, and in this upcoming publication with Ms. Christy Niem and Dr. Kristelle Ann R. Torres, it was assessed across three dimensions, one of which is 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙭𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙨. And if not for these disaster simulations, there would have been more casualties. While one limitation of this study is the locale, I think it would be imperative to look past that and see how we could 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, not only of schools and universities, but also of businesses and establishments, both private and public.

'HINDI ITO PANANAKOT. ITO AY PANANAGUTANG PAMPULITIKA'

Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) issued a statement ahead of the plenary vote on Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment.

The political party expressed potential consequences for those who would vote in favor, including exclusion from its political slate and active opposition in future elections.

"Ang sinumang opisyal na boboto pabor sa impeachment ni VP Sara Duterte ay hindi maaaring umasa ng pampulitikang kanlungan sa PDP Laban. Hindi sila papayagang lumipat sa partido. Hindi sila mabibigyan ng pagkakataong tumakbo sa ilalim ng bandila ng PDP Laban. At kung kinakailangan, maghahain at susuporta ang PDP Laban ng matibay na kandidato laban sa kanila sa kani-kanilang distrito. Hindi ito pananakot. Ito ay pananagutang pampulitika," the statement read.

The Teaching Psychology Special Interest Group of the Psychological Association of the Philippines expresses its 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗚𝗘) 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗺 as outlined in the draft Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order on Policies, Standards and Guidelines on the Reframed General Education Curriculum Component: Philosophy, Structure, Development Mechanisms, and Quality Assurance.

As a community of teachers committed to a Philippines where psychology is accessible, meaningful, and relevant to all, we find it imperative to articulate how this reform impacts the very formation of learners and the conditions under which educators teach.
