When the chips were down and Bounceback’s Finals hopes seemed to be slipping away after a lopsided first quarter, GREV RUBLICO put the team on his back. In a performance that will go down in SBU history, Rublico earned Best Player of the Game honors, leading Bounceback to a thrilling 85-81 victory over a relentless Triple DJ’s. Finishing with a staggering 34 points and 11 rebounds, Rublico was a force of nature. While Triple DJ’s dominated the opening frame, Rublico sparked the fight back in the second half, scoring 20 of his points in the paint and pulling down crucial offensive boards to keep possessions alive.

In a game that required every ounce of composure, the second-seeded BOUNCEBACK proved why they are title contenders. Despite a scorching start from TRIPLE DJ’S that threatened to turn the game into a first-quarter blowout, BOUNCEBACK orchestrated a methodical comeback to secure an 85-81 victory, punching their ticket to the SBU 35 UP Season 2 “The Finals.”

The #3 seeds TRIPLE DJ’S came out firing, dominating the first quarter with a blistering double digit lead that left the favorites reeling. However, BOUNCEBACK refused to panic. They spent the next two quarters chipping away at the lead with disciplined defense and high-percentage scoring.

The tension reached a breaking point with 5:00 remaining on the clock as the scoreboard read 71-71. In a "win-or-go-home" atmosphere, every possession became a battle. While TRIPLE DJ’S made a late, desperate push to close the gap in the final minute, BOUNCEBACK remained clinical at the free-throw line. TRIPLE DJ’S moved closer, but their final efforts fell just short as the buzzer sounded on an 85-81 final.

Efficiency meets intensity. In a game where Takuza was pushed to the limit, Dandin Castro stepped up with a two-way performance for the ages. The "Double-Double" only tells half the story. Castro served as the defensive heartbeat for Takuza. Castro was a force on both ends of the floor, recording a massive double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. While the offense was flashy, it was his strong defensive presence that saved the day. As Underdogs surged to within five points, 86-81 in the final two minutes, Castro ripped away a crucial offensive rebound, effectively silencing the comeback.

Top-seeded TAKUZA left no doubt about their championship intentions, dismantling UNDERDOGS, 90-81 in SBU 35 UP Season 2 Semifinals. In a clinical performance from start to finish, the league leaders proved that their regular-season dominance was no fluke, officially punching their ticket to “The Finals.”

Early on, it looked like business as usual for the league leaders. TAKUZA dominated the opening half, utilizing their signature transition offense to build a 15-point cushion by halftime. However, the knockout stage is never predictable.

Refusing to go quietly, the #4 seeded UNDERDOGS emerged from the break with renewed energy. They chipped away at the lead throughout the second half, turning a blowout into a dogfight.

With just 2:00 remaining on the clock, the court was at a fever pitch as UNDERDOGS pulled within five points at 86-81. Sensing a historic upset, the #4 seed’s gunner, Andrew Dean drilled back-to-back triples to put the undefeated giants on their heels.

Ultimately, TAKUZA’s veteran experience shone through. Clutch buckets by Richard Joseph silenced the rally and allowed TAKUZA to escape with their flawless record intact.
