📸⚽ Handos boys in Manila!

Thank you, The Malaya FC for the snapshots!

"Cebu really made a strong showing in the Youth contest as Tabor Hill College FC and Makati FC Cebu finished first runner-up in the U13 group and U11 class, respectively."
Cebu youth teams shine in Asia 7’s tilt
CEBU’S young footballers delivered a dominant performance in the Asia 7’s Club Championships held from Nov. 27 to 30 at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig City

😊 GRATITUDE POST ⚽
They say it takes a village to raise a child. This week, we learned it also takes a village to send a football team to Manila -- especially a team like ours.
No travel jersey.
No matching bags.
No new game kit.
No fancy accommodation.
(Though of course, we would’ve loved to have all of these!)
But we can live without them. Because what truly matters are the essentials: enough to get us to Taguig, eat three times a day, travel to and from the venue, play the matches, and get back to Cebu. That’s it. That’s all we need
And behind every meal, every ride, every daily lodging stay, were people who believed our boys deserved this chance.
Their support didn’t just fund this trip.
It funded dreams & possibilities -- first flight, first time in Manila, first moments our boys will never forget.

Special thanks again to Mam Rubylyn Trazona, Mam Giselle Alvarez-Detouche, Sir Eman & Mam Jhen Matugas, Sir Jerylle Balwit -- from Day 0 to Day 2, your steady help kept everything running and let our boys focus on the game.
Special thanks also to Subangdaku Football Club for lending us Jasonle Esparcia and Alexander John Colina. They fit right in and gave us steady & reliable options when we needed it.
To ADA Cebu, thank you for Kendrick Alvarez, our fearless goalkeeper, and Eman Matugas, the crafty lefty. They brought energy, skill and depth that lifted the whole team.
To USC Montessori, thank you for allowing Storm Balwit to join us. He helped us cover the back line with a level of calmness despite being 12 years old.
To the parents who entrusted their kids to us & did their best to help us bring them to Manila -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
From all of us at Tabor Hill College U13:
Thank you for being our village. 🙏
Thank you for lifting our boys higher than their circumstances. 🙏

The 7s Asia Youth Championship is in the books.
Our Handos Boys finished with eight wins, two draws & 1 loss(Finals) -- topping our bracket on Day 1 and finishing first again in the Top 4 crossover on Day 2.
THC scored 13 goals and conceded only five: three in the group stage, none in the Top 4 ranking stage, and two in the Finals.
Kert Opigal led the pack with nine goals, mixing craftiness with calmness under pressure. Eman Matugas added two. Jacob Quilicot and Clint Ebron scored one each.
In goal, Kendrick Alvarez stood tall -- saving shot after shot and keeping us in every match. He later earned the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper award.
Our defenders -- Kovic Pansacala, Jay Heart Macarayan, Jacob Quilicot, Jason Esparcia, Alex Colina, Storm Balwit, and Lawrence Ebron -- rotated smoothly, clearing danger and guarding the back line.
Up front, Reymart Taberos, Eman Matugas, Clint Ebron, and Kert Opigal pushed the pace and kept the attack flowing.
It was a solid team performance from start to finish. We simply came up short in the finals.
Still, it was a clear net positive experience for the THC Handos Boys -- six games on Day 1, five on Day 2, eleven in all.
Job well done to Coaches Clark Pantinople and John Jessel Codeniera -- not only for guiding the boys during matches, but also for managing the day-to-day logistics and making sure every player stayed safe and secure.
We’re deeply grateful to Mam Rubylyn Trazona , Mam Giselle Alvarez - Detouche, Sir Eman Matugas, Mam Jhen Zhi Matugas and Sir Jerylle B Balwit. Their steady help from Day 0 to Day 2 kept everything running smoothly. They stepped in wherever we needed them -- organizing, coordinating, buying post-match meals and solving problems before they even reached us. We couldn’t have managed the trip without them.
To everyone who made this trip possible: thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Your generosity brought us to the 7s Asia Youth Championship in Taguig -- and brought us home a silver medal.
Truly an unforgettable one.

🤔 When was the last time you did or experienced something for the first time?
For us coaches at Tabor Hill College-OAD, Inc. FC, we saw up close the unforgettable string of firsts from our U13 Handos boys:
✅ First airplane flight.
✅ First out-of-town tournament.
✅ First time in Manila.
✅ First time seeing top Asian football teams like Japan -- up close.
✅ First time playing at McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig.
✅ First time facing teams outside the Vis-Min region.
✅ First time buying food, riding a jeep, and asking for directions in Tagalog.
✅ First time away from their parents for 3 days
✅ First time sharing one room with teammates.
✅ First time joining a major tournament without paying a registration fee -- waived by 7s Asia after our first-runner-up finish in Cebu. Big thanks to 7’s Football League organizer, Ms. Jeren Labares and 7s Philippines founder, Anton Del Rosario for the generosity and opportunity.
There were likely more firsts that slipped past us in the rush of the day. But they mattered just the same.
And the sweetest first of all?
🥈 First runner-up in the 7s Asia Youth Championship U13 Division in Manila!
None of these firsts and first times would have happened without our generous supporters, both longtime and first-time sponsors.
Every moment mattered as it was a journey full of colorful firsts.
On behalf of Tabor Hill College, the parents and our players: thank you for believing in our young team!
All these firsts and first times are yours as much as ours.
And with your continued support, they won’t be the last.
We look forward to the seconds, the thirds, the fourths and all the firsts still waiting for us.
The next first we’re chasing?
Beating Cebu United in a championship match -- for the first time. 😊
We came close twice. Once in Cebu and again in Manila but it stayed elusive on both occasions 😁
Congratulations to Cebu United Football Club players, parents and coaches Jam & Bryan! Well deserved championship title! 👏
Handos THC!
