Everyone talks about exercising and eating healthy to look sexy.

Not enough people discuss that it also makes you smarter and gives you greater control over your mood.

When I work with clients on their exercise, sleep, and diet, one of the things they always mention is their increased focus, ability to control their emotions, and better memory.

What you need to know is that your brain is always changing. Scientists now believe our brains are more like plastic – able to adapt, grow, and change depending on what we do with them.

This process is called Neuroplasticity.

Brain-Derived Neurotropic Factor (BDNF) has been referred to as a fertilizer for your brain.

It is a substance that is found in your brain and helps to maintain the life of your brain cells, as well as grow new ones. It aids in neuroplasticity.

Research is showing that the exercise you do, as well as the foods you eat, have an effect on how your brain ages.

No exercise, eating a diet comprised of junk foods, and regular alcohol consumption are a fast path to brain decline.

Daily exercise and eating a healthy diet comprised of nutrient-dense foods keep the brain healthy.

Evolving your brain is not just limited to physical activity & diet.

Your thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions of the world also shape your brain's evolution.

It’s not enough to focus on the physical aspects we must also seek to upgrade our thoughts and how we see the world.

Think about it this way:

Your brain is software.
Your body is hardware.

Don’t be like the average person who’s still running on Windows 95.

If you want to live a quality life well into your old age, then you want to upgrade both on a regular basis.

I'm going to say something that's going to p**s off a lot of people, but **** it, it needs to be said:

Stop eating like a child. Seriously, stop.

When people grow up, it's almost like they've been given a blank check to eat whatever they want.

What they don't realize is that with great power comes great responsibility.

Eating chips, cereal, fruit, drinking fruit juices, or eating frozen meals is a child's diet dressed up in adult packaging.

If you eat this way, then don't complain about why your energy crashes, why your focus fades, and why your body looks exactly the same year after year.

As we get older, our diet needs to be tighter, or else we face the consequences.

This does not mean that our diets need to be perfect, but it does mean that you need to be more responsible with the foods that you're putting into your mouth.

When you do this, you will feel a level of energy and mental clarity you have not felt since you were in your 20s.

You'll also look that way, too.

So please start eating like an adult because as you get older, it's not going to get easier.

🔆Worth pondering

Getting in shape can feel like a battle against modern living.

Humans were meant to move.
Humans were meant to eat real food.
Humans were meant to have a community.

But to do all these in the modern world we live in today seems like we’re swimming upstream.

Getting fit can feel like an affront to the average person because it’s not how the average person lives today.

This means we must commit to a standard that’s above average. We must prioritize our physical health because it will help us feel mentally healthier.

It means being more human and doing more human things.

It doesn’t have to be hard either.

It can be done in 4 simple steps:
1. Eat a nutrient-dense diet.
2. Workout 3-4x a week
3. Get 7-8 hours of sleep a night
4. Drink water

That’s a simple checklist that will have you healthier than 90% of people out there.

Can you do those 4 things daily to get back to your best shape? You’re damn right you can.

I believe in you.

So my question to you today is:

What do you think 6 months of full commitment would do?

Over the years, we have seen a steady increase of 35 to 40 year old patients who are struggling to perform the most basic Activities of Daily Living. Often they are unable to climb more than 8 flights of stairs without feeling breathless, and unable to jog even briefly pain free.

Unfortunately, these aren't normal signs of ageing. These are early signs of impending metabolic impairment that will soon be an expensive medical condition if left unchecked.
