Ibinahagi nina Karl Santamaria at Ronard Joven, na nagsilbing dating coaches ni Filipina tennis player Alex Eala, ang ilan sa mga litrato ng humble beginnings ng tennis star.

Kasunod ito ng makasaysayang pagkapanalo ni Eala sa 2026 Mubadala DC Open kung saan nakuha niya ang kaniyang unang WTA 500 title kontra tennis veteran at World No. 3 Jessica Pegula.

“Even at a young age… kung ano ‘yung strength niya ngayon, makikita naman natin ‘yung mental fortitude niya, ‘yung discipline niya, ‘yung attitude niya na palaban talaga, it was there already,” sabi ni Santamaria.

“Noong bata siya, nakitaan ko na talagang malaki ang potensyal ni Alex. Then ‘yung work ethics niya, determination niya, and disiplina sa loob ng court — iba siya sa ibang mga bata,” paliwanag ni Joven. I via Ian Suyu
