𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱. 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝘁. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘆.

From barely prepared to fully triumphant — the Ateneo Eagle Shuttlers Men’s Team defied odds at CEAP Mindanao 2025 in General Santos City, June 02-06, clinching the Gold Medal against five other fierce regions.

With little time to prepare but hearts set on the game, it was pure team synergy that carried them through — every set, interval, and point, is a testament to the team's desire to win.

With every rally, they echoed their battle cry: "𝘽𝙖𝙬𝙞 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜, 𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙣 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜.” A reminder to shake off the falls, stand tall, and keep swinging, regardless of how slim the chances are. As they say, "𝙋𝙪𝙨𝙤 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜"

Under the guidance of Coach 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐄. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥, the team battled through and through — proving that passion and trust can outmatch even the toughest odds.

Ateneo Eagle Shuttlers, the official badminton team for Ateneo de Zamboanga University will have its tryouts during the entire month of August. Tryouts will be done every Friday, 6:30 PM at the Multi-Purpose Covered Court (MPCC) 2.

Spearheader by coach Jay Cristobal, the team offers opportunity for growth and athletic development as we try to foster camaraderie, sportsmanship, and of course, better playing skills.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦—𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩.

It is not everyday that we get to play to our heart's content, to sweat like there's no tomorrow, and to shout our loud cries of triumphs. Ateneo Eagle Shuttlers proved true that even with the least amount of preparation, anything is within reach if you set your heart and mind into something.

More than waving the banner of the blue Ateneo de Zamboanga community, AES also roared fiercely with the red color of Region IX—bringing with them the pride and honor of the entire Zamboanga Peninsula.

Success is always due to those who persist—a battle between who wants it more. Nonetheless, the achievement of the team was already a great feat considering the heavy line up coming from the different competent regions. It is, after all, the 10th Mindanao CEAP games.

However, none could have been possible without the contribution of every single member, most especially to coach Jay Cristobal, who extended his utmost patience and maximum tolerance towards the team, guiding them not just towards the podium but on the better side of the sport and life in general.
