Day 2 Recap | Zamboanga Ultimate Open Vol. 2 🥏

It was a windy second day at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, making the disc’s flight unpredictable and every play challenging. Despite the conditions, the competition only got fiercer as the tournament reached its final stretch.

The semifinals opened with ABUG vs ZUS 2, a nail-biting showdown that went down to a universal point. It was Al-Khabir Hajihil who sealed the win for ZUS 2, catching a hammer break throw from Romer Bios to send their team to the finals. In the other semifinal match, ZUS took a commanding victory over the stronghearted players of SBU, securing their spot in the championship game.

The finals became a battle between sister teams — ZUS and ZUS 2, while ABUG and SBU fought for the 2nd runner-up spot. ABUG showed grit and determination, claiming the 2nd runner-up finish after a solid performance against SBU.

The tournament concluded with a flawless run by ZUS, dominating ZUS 2 in the championship match to complete a lossless campaign from double round robin all the way to the finals. The match ended on a high note as Jelord Tinglao scored the final point with a rare Callahan play, the only one recorded throughout the event. It was a fitting end to an intense and spirited weekend of ultimate.
