ZC CONTRIBUTES 3 ADD'L GOLD MEDALS FOR ZPRAA IN PALARO| Region 9 secured 3 additional gold medals, Thursday, May 28, courtesy of 3 Zambiangueṅo student-athletes at the 2026 Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur.

The medal haulers were Aidh Naveen J. Munsing of Ateneo de Zamboanga University bagged gold medal in Chess – Classical Standard (Elementary Boys); Nichole Ann R. Aragon of Mercedes National High School clinched Gold Medal in Weightlifting (48 KG) – Secondary Girls and Kian D. Legarte of Culianan National High School whi won gold medal in Weightlifting (56 kg).

ADZU RECOGNIZES ZCDAA REPRESENTATIVES AND PALARONG PAMBANSA QUALIFIERS |

Last Thursday, May 13, 2026, a meaningful courtesy gathering was held with the University President of Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Fr. Ernald M. Andal, SJ, and the AdZU student-athletes who proudly represented the ZCDAA Team during the ZPRAA Meet in Isabela City from April 6 to 11, 2026.

During the gathering, all AdZU student-athletes who represented the ZCDAA Team were awarded certificates in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and commitment in representing the university and the region. The event also recognized the student-athletes who qualified for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa, where AdZU student-athletes from Chess, Taekwondo, Swimming, Badminton, and Basketball earned their qualification to the national stage. The qualifiers were also given Hawk bags as they prepare for their Palarong Pambansa journey.

More than a recognition program, the gathering became a space for stories, lessons, and reflections as the student-athletes shared their experiences from ZPRAA, the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and the memories they will carry beyond competition.

Fr. Ernald expressed his happiness and pride in witnessing how the student-athletes represented the university and the city with excellence, humility, discipline, and character both on and off the court. Their journey continues to reflect the true spirit of being an Atenean student-athlete by striving not only for victory but also for growth, formation, and service.

The Athletics Office also extends its heartfelt gratitude to Hawkbag Bag Philippines for generously providing the Hawk bags for our Palarong Pambansa qualifiers. Your support continues to inspire and empower our student-athletes as they carry the pride of AdZU and the region to the national stage.

JAA 2026 DAY 1 | Day 1 of registration brings together some of the coaches and the team behind the Juegos Azul Aguila: AdZU Summer Camp 2026.

With Unit Athletics Coordinators Ms Irene Olaivar (Grade School) and Mr Erwin Pelayo (SHS), and University Athletics Coordinator Gianne Dela Cruz, the camp officially kicks off.

As more walk-in campers continue to arrive, we look forward to welcoming even more participants in the days ahead.

Registration is still ongoing. Forms may be accessed via the provided QR code or at the University Athletics Office, Salvador Campus, La Purisima Street, Zamboanga City.

JAA 2026 ANUNCIO | A friendly reminder to all campers and parents: as we begin the Juegos Azul Aguila Summer Camp, your cooperation in following camp guidelines will help keep everyone safe and organized, and ensure a smooth flow of activities throughout the day.

We also encourage our campers to come prepared, stay hydrated, and help keep our campus clean. Please note that pet bottles are not allowed inside the campus.

Orientation will start at 9:00 AM at MPCC 1.
