Margalla Trail Runners (MTR) is hosting the first of three official recce runs to help participants familiarize themselves with the Galiyat Mountain Trail (GMT) routes (100k, 60k, 40k & 20k).

Whether you're preparing for iTRA (International Trail Running Association) & UTMB Index races on 18–19 July 2026, or simply looking for a high-altitude endurance challenge, this is your chance!

This recce will cover:
✔ Full 20k route
✔ Portions of 40k, 60k & 100k routes

The moment has arrived to make history by participating in the first-ever 100K Trail Race in Pakistan, introduced in the 5th edition of Galiyat Mountain Trail 2026.

This landmark event will mark 2026 as a historic year for Pakistan’s running community. From organizing the first-ever trail marathon and 1K vertical road marathon, to now bringing a 100K ultra trail race and an open water Olympic distance triathlon, Team Margalla Trail Runners continues to push boundaries, Alhamdulillah.

We are proud to share that the Galiyat Mountain Trail 100K Race has officially received recognition with a 100K badge from iTRA and UTMB, while the newly introduced 40K category has earned a 50K badge from these prestigious bodies.

This is more than just a race, it’s your chance to become a pioneer finisher of Pakistan’s first-ever 100K trail race.
