Pragmata director Cho Yonghee says the team knew Diana could spark “uncomfortable” conversations and wanted to address them early. Diana is meant to feel warm and relatable inside the game’s cold sci fi world, with her bond with Hugh centered on trust, protection, and teamwork. That context matters, because parts of the internet immediately started being weird about a childlike android character before the game is even out.

That is where the “Diana Police” reaction comes in. Most players are not mad that Capcom made a young companion character, they are pushing back on the predictable corner of the internet that takes an innocent character and tries to drag the conversation somewhere gross. The community basically saw the nonsense coming and decided to draw the line before release.
