Nigerian athlete, Tobi Amusan has set a new record by winning the 100 meters hurdles gold at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the United Kingdom.
The 25-year-old clocked 12.30 seconds to set a new games record.
This is coming two weeks after she became the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics Championship gold as she stormed to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon.
Amusan, who had obliterated the world record in an astonishing semi-final where she clocked 12.12sec, powered over the line at Hayward Field in 12.06sec.

Pakistani sprinter Shajar Abbas has rekindled hopes for winning another medal for the country as he has qualified for the final of 200 meter race competition at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 in Birmingham.
Besides becoming the first Asian to reach the final 200-m sprint in ongoing mega sports events, he is the first Pakistani athlete ever to qualify for the final round.

Commonwealth Games 2022: Pakistan's Jehanara Nabi and Bisma Khan made country proud and came first and second respectively in Swimming competition.
Jehanara's father wrote: "Super proud father. Super proud Pakistani!!! My (not so baby) J broke the Pakistan national record(her own) and came 1st in her heat for 100m free at the prestigious Commonwealth Games in the UK!!! Yayyyyyyy!!!"
