A Positive Step for Islamabad Cricket

The Lahore High Court has allowed the writ petition (No. 37823/25) titled Shakil Shaikh vs Pakistan Cricket Board.

The short order was announced by Honourable Justice Malik Javed Iqbal Wains after hearing detailed arguments presented by Advocate Taffazul Rizvi.

Through this judgment, the order of the PCB Adjudicator dated 27 May 2025 and the PCB notification dated 28 May 2025, which had restrained the Islamabad Region Cricket Association and its Zonal Cricket Associations from working in their respective offices, have been set aside.

With this decision, the elected Regional and Zonal Cricket Associations of Islamabad stand restored, which is a welcome development for the cricket community of the region.

The Honourable Court also accepted the argument that a Writ Petition is maintainable against the PCB, reinforcing the importance of lawful governance in cricket administration.

Diamond Cricket Club welcomes this development and hopes it will bring stability, transparency, and positive progress for cricket in Islamabad Region, benefiting players, clubs, and the cricket community.
