We Pakistanis are among the world's most charitable nations. However, most of this charity goes towards feeding, clothing and sheltering the destitute. Whereas these acts are extremely noble in their own place, unfortunately, they do not lead to a sustainable change.
In order to bring a lasting change to the life of people who need help, we need to train and equip them so they can earn their own livelihood in a respectable manner.
This Eid, let's all commit to take a step beyond just handing down cash, food or clothes to the destitute. Let's help these people break their poverty circle by training them with the right skills in order to afford them a chance to respectable income. We at Shanakht are doing so. Join us in our effort to make a difference. This is the true spirit of philanthropy.
