**Title: Correct Office Sitting – Protect Your Back and Neck*
Poor posture is a major cause of back pain, neck strain, and shoulder pain. This picture shows you how to sit.
Sit back in your chair. Your back should be fully supported. The curve of the chair should support the natural curve of your back. Sitting with an incorrect slouching position puts pressure on your spine and can lead to disc problems in the long run.
Head and screen*Keep your head balanced, don’t lean forward. The top of the screen should be at eye level, and the distance should be an arm’s length. Leaning forward can cause “text neck,” which can cause constant neck pain.
Elbows at 90 degrees, arms parallel to the desk. Feet flat on the floor or use a footrest. Keep a small distance between your knees and the chair to prevent blood flow.
Set up your work desk according to this picture. If you have persistent back or neck pain, consult your P or a registered physiotherapist. Adopt correct posture today, avoid pain tomorrow.
