Critical Mass Islamabad Cycling in and around Islamabad, and as all Critical Mass movements around the world claiming and as in an event known as 'Commute Clot'. Come Join us!

We started in 2009 in Islamabad, sharing the vision of Critical Mass worldwide, which dates back to September 1992 when in San Francisco two dozen cyclists took to streets together at 6 p.m. By second such event the name was changed to 'Critical Mass' after being inspired from a documentary made on bike culture in China and Netherlands. It goes like this since then. The event is now held in at least over 350 cities around the world. Starting in Islamabad in 2009, the group in addition to claiming and asserting the rights of cyclists on the road, now envisions promoting and encouraging cycling as an environmental friendly, healthy communal sport in the city aimed at bringing cyclists enthusiasts together every weekend. During last eleven years we have rode in and around Islamabad, explored the city and beautiful countryside around 'on two wheels' and promoted cycling resulting in significant increase in number of cyclists. We are now close to 500 rides organized in the city, and we continue to ride every weekend.

Starting from Faisal Masjid, Dear Riders we ride towards the Satra Meel Roundabout on Murree Road and back this Sunday. Let's hope for cloud cover but no rain.

Faisal Masjid parking> Margalla Road > 7th avenue > Left on Sri Nagar Highway > Murree Road > Barakahu flyover > Satra Meel Roundabout > Return via same route.
Total = 44.5km.

1. BICYCLE, fully checked with WORKING BRAKES!
2. HELMETS (Safety First)
3. Water/Juice Bottles
4. Camera/Phone with a camera (for taking photos and preserving your memories)

14th August | Pakistan Independence Day

Dear Riders,

This 14th August, let’s celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day the CMI way — together, on two wheels! 🇵🇰🚴

We’ll ride to F-9 Baradari and join the National Anthem ceremony organized by the Islamabad Cycling Association & MTB.

After the ceremony, we’ll head out for a relaxed Independence Day ride through F-10 → Margalla Road → E-11 → D-12.

And because August in Islamabad means heat + thirst = Lassi time! 🥛😎

Once we complete the E-11 loop, we’ll stop at Tariq Market for a refreshing Cold Lassi. The lassi stop is optional — join us if you wish!
