Wahab Shah Dance Company

I am deeply honoured and humbled to share that I have been announced as a recipient of the President’s Pride of Performance—one of Pakistan’s highest civil honours—for my contribution to dance and choreography.

This recognition belongs not only to me, but to every teacher, artist, collaborator, dancer, friend and family member who has walked beside me throughout this journey. It also belongs to the sacred traditions, stories and rhythms of Pakistan that continue to inspire my Contemporary Sufi movement practice.

From a young dancer with a dream to representing Pakistan through movement across the world, the journey has never been easy—but it has been meaningful.

With gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for this extraordinary honour, and to everyone who believed in my work.

Alhamdulillah. This is not the end of the journey—it is a renewed responsibility to keep creating, questioning, moving and representing Pakistan with truth and love.
