Keeping it short this Saturday as the boys are gearing up for the Tour de Lahore race on Sunday. The weather wasn't exactly on our side and heated up far too early.
Met Iqbal Sahib and his crew at Thokar and rolled together towards Beijing. On the way back, Shakeel Jutt and his group joined us
Now it's time to rest, recover, and get ready for race day.

Low attendance today, with the boys opting for yet another Harbanspura loop. We merged with Shakeel Jutt and the crew at FPR and continued at a solid pace all the way to Harbanspura before heading back via Jail Road.
To wrap things up, we squeezed in some sprint practice around Gulberg. The weather was pleasant, the legs felt good, and as always, the ride ended with a well-deserved cup of chai.

World Bicycle Day Ride
Last night’s rain brought a welcome change in the weather, with overcast skies making for perfect riding conditions this morning.
The plan was to keep it easy and spin the legs on a recovery ride, but with Velo, that’s rarely how things go. The boys went full gas from Thokar all the way to Harbanspura, turning what was supposed to be a relaxed ride into a fast-paced effort.
A few riders went on to do Beijing and Jinnah loop and then regrouped for a coffee stop at the end.

High-intensity intervals with some sprints thrown into the mix today. The boys from GCC, along with Shakil & Co., joined us for a Beijing-CBD loop.
It was full gas from the start, with interval efforts keeping everyone on their toes throughout the ride.
And yes, it's definitely getting hotter out there. Summer is making its presence felt.

Sunday Recovery Day. For old times’ sake, we decided to cycle through the Androon Lahore, and the weather couldn’t have been better. The streets were unusually quiet, with most people still enjoying the Eid holidays.
After cycling via Delhi Gate, we stopped near Badshahi Masjid for a Halwa Puri nashta. The boys had to keep their hands in check though, we still had to pedal all the way back home afterwards! 🤣
A relaxed morning, great company, beautiful weather, and a touch of Lahore’s timeless charm. Just what the doctor ordered...

Killer winds today. Quite a few had confirmed but eventually opted to rest, as some were still not fully recovered from previous rides and Eid.
Sheraz arrived a little early and assumed we had already left Thokar, so he went ahead and completed a Harbanspura loop on his own. Meanwhile, Rao and Furqan rolled in a bit later. At Thokar, they linked up with Fraz from FTC along with Iqbal Sb and company.
We rode till PU before deciding to head towards Cantt and then DHA. However, the winds wreaked havoc throughout the ride. It was really Man vs Wind...

The Eid Day 2 ride tradition at Velo continues, and it’s one tradition we never miss. After probably the hottest day of the year yesterday, Lahore treated us to beautiful overcast weather this morning.
The boys went for a chill recovery ride through different roads of the city, making the most of the pleasant conditions. A surprise highlight was unlimited Jam-e-Shireen, courtesy of a Qarshi stall near Qarshi Park. Later, we spotted blooming Amaltas trees in Model Town and naturally had to stop for a little photoshoot.
Attendance may have been lower than usual, but the ride made it another memorable Eid morning on the saddle.

Boys had planned for a DHA loop, but with some fasting and others busy at the mandi for Eid shopping, we decided to switch to a Harbanspura loop instead, at a fast pace.
Ran into the CDL boys at Thokar and later wrapped up the ride with coffee alongside the Cyclopedia guys.
Happy Advance Eid Mubarak, everyone! 🐐🐐

The boys missed Saturday’s long haul due to the rain, so Sunday became ride day instead.
Busy Lahore Canal Road in the early hours of the morning as it was mandi weekend, but the pleasant weather made the ride much more enjoyable.
The boys were on the gas pedal from the start, strong pace, good legs, and a proper day on the saddle.

Crazy crosswinds, pouring rain and the heatwave finally taking a break. A low attendance as many of the riders opted to stay at home because of the rain :p
However, the best rides are the ones where the weather tries to fight back. 😄😄
