What are the biggest challenges you face in coaching kids?
1. Different skill levels
One of the biggest challenges is managing different skill levels within the same group and keeping every child motivated.
2. Lack of focus
Keeping kids focused and engaged throughout the entire training session is not easy.
3. Parents’ pressure
Sometimes parents focus too much on results instead of player development.
4. Building confidence
Helping kids believe in themselves, especially after making mistakes, is a constant challenge.
5. Balancing development and results
Finding the right balance between developing players and trying to win games.
6. Discipline and consistency
Teaching discipline and responsibility at a young age requires time and patience.
7. Keeping the joy of the game alive
Making sure football remains fun and enjoyable, not stressful.

“The best way to develop a player is to give him responsibility.”
Arsène Wenger understood something many coaches still overlook 👇
Players don’t grow by being controlled.
They grow by being trusted.
Responsibility creates ownership.
Ownership creates decision-makers.
And decision-makers win games.

💬I’m a coach because of the kids and the passion i have for the game and sport itself. there is no better feeling than teaching a child the importance of discipline, hard work, team effort, dedication, determination, and the heart it takes to win not only in sports but in life.

🚨 Shouting at kids isn’t coaching 🚨
I often hear coaches defend constantly shouting instructions at children in youth football with:
👉 “Well, Pep Guardiola shouts at players in the Premier League…”
But here’s the problem ⬇️
💰 Pep is coaching elite, adult professionals who are paid millions.
⚽ Children in grassroots sport are there to learn, play, and enjoy the game.
🫣Shouting at a child doesn’t make them play better, it usually makes them play with fear.
Youth sport isn’t the Premier League. It’s about developing confidence, skills, and a love for the game.
Coaches: if you want to inspire children, replace shouting with teaching. Replace criticism with encouragement. Replace fear with fun.
