In some good news for the Melbourne Stars and the entire Big Bash, Pakistani speedster Haris Rauf has received his No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB and is able to play in the BBL this season.

Fellow Pakistanis Zaman Khan (Thunder) and Usama Mir (Stars) have also received theirs. However, there is a catch. The trio can only play in the BBL until December 28. They will then return home for a period of rest before Pakistan's T20I series against New Zealand commences in mid-January.

It means that Rauf and Mir can play in up to five matches for the Stars, while Zaman will only feature in four matches for the Thunder.

English fast bowler Olly Stone has been training with the Stars, he looks likely to be Rauf's replacement.
