KINGSMEN — A JOURNEY FROM IDENTITY TO CHAMPIONSHIP

There are cricket teams built around a tournament. There are teams that come together for a season and then there are teams that become part of the history of a ground.

Kingsmen are one of those teams.

Their story at Bedian Spins Cricket Ground began back in 2018 — Bedian Spins' 5th Season. At the time, they weren't yet Kingsmen. They first carried the name Geoffry Boycotts, later became Slow Death, and eventually settled on the name that would come to define them: Kingsmen.

Led by Ahsan Munir, the remarkable thing about this team has been constant rebuilding around the core members members of team. Players have come and gone, combinations have changed, and individual roles have evolved, but the faces representing Kingsmen have retained a sense of continuity.

What changed dramatically was something far more important.

They started winning.

2018 — When the team first appeared at Bedian Spins in 2018, nobody could have known what the next eight years would eventually produce.

They were simply another group of friends trying to find their identity as cricketers.

Geoffry Boycotts.

Then came Slow Death.

And eventually, the name that stuck: KINGSMEN

They kept coming back.

Season after season.

Match after match.

Sometimes celebrating. Sometimes disappointed. Sometimes producing brilliant individual performances that didn't necessarily translate into trophies.

But they kept playing.
And, perhaps most importantly, they kept playing together.

The last two years have been a defining chapter in the Kingsmen story. After years of competing at Bedian Spins, producing moments of individual brilliance and building a team that stayed together through different phases, 2025 finally brought their breakthrough — the Tri-Series trophy. But they didn't stop there. In 2026, Kingsmen went on to win Bedian Spins' major tournament, the Super-6, turning a long history of promise into a period of championship success. From their early days as Geoffry Boycotts and Slow Death to becoming Kingsmen, the journey has been about far more than a change of name — it has been about a team growing together, staying together, and finally turning years of cricket into two major trophies in two remarkable years.

SUPER-6
SEMI FINAL
SMC vs KINGSMEN

SMC Innings — 136 all out

0–5 overs: 49/1
Excellent start. Jamshaid dominated the powerplay, scoring freely and putting Kingsmen under pressure. SMC lost Sajid Ali at the end of the 5th over.

5–10 overs: 36/3 — 85/4
The momentum shifted sharply. Wasib Tai produced a brilliant spell, taking 3 wickets in a devastating middle-over burst. SMC went from 49/1 to 85/4.

10–15 overs: 44/2 — 129/6
Jamshaid kept SMC alive, moving into the 60s and eventually 82. But Kingsmen continued taking wickets at regular intervals, preventing a late acceleration.

15–17.4 overs: 7/4 — 136 all out
SMC completely collapsed. Jamshaid fell at 131, and the last four wickets disappeared for just 7 runs. Wasib finished with 4/20, while Salman Tahir took 3/16.

Kingsmen Innings — 137/2

0–5 overs: 47/0
Very controlled chase. Ahsen Ali and Mohsin Ali attacked without taking unnecessary risks, giving Kingsmen a strong platform.

5–10 overs: 41/1 — 88/1
Mohsin continued aggressively, reaching 34 from 21. His dismissal at 72 briefly gave SMC hope, but Ahsen remained firmly in control.

10–15 overs: 40/1 — 128/2
Ahsen completed an excellent 62 off 43, while Hassan Zaidi provided support. Kingsmen stayed comfortably ahead of the required rate.

15–15.4 overs: 9/0 — 137/2
A quick finish. Rafil Zulqarnain smashed 9 off 4, including two boundaries, as Kingsmen completed an 8-wicket victory with 26 balls remaining.

SUPER 6
MATCH # 15
SMC vs BS GREENS
BS GREEN: 203/4 (20 overs)
SMC: 204/7 (19.3 overs)
Result: SMC won by 3 wickets
1st INNINGS — BS GREEN BATTING
🔵 After 5 overs: BS GREEN 44/1
BS GREEN lost Syed Raza for 5 at 0.4, but the innings recovered quickly. Yasir Afridi and Syed Haider built momentum, with Haider particularly aggressive. By the end of the fifth over, Haider had reached 20 off 13, while Yasir was on 17 off 13.
🔵 After 10 overs: BS GREEN 90/2 The middle five overs produced another 46 runs, but BS GREEN lost Yasir Afridi at 86/2 in the 9.2nd over. Haider continued to carry the innings, reaching 43 off 26 by the end of the 10th. Monum Ahmed had just arrived and was 4 off 4.
🔵 After 15 overs: BS GREEN 148/2 This was the beginning of the big acceleration. From overs 10–15, BS GREEN added 58 runs without losing a wicket. Haider went from 43 to 68, while Monum exploded from 4 to 37. The 13th over, for example, produced 15 runs, while the 14th produced another 14.
🔵 After 20 overs: BS GREEN 203/4 The final five overs produced 55 runs, taking BS GREEN from 148/2 to 203/4. Haider reached 75 off 42, while Monum scored 70 off 35. Haider was dismissed at 183/3 in 17.2, and Monum was run out at 198/4 in 18.4. The final two overs only produced 13 runs, allowing BS GREEN to finish on 203/4, an excellent T20 total.
----------------------------------
2nd INNINGS —
SMC BATTING
🟢 After 5 overs: SMC 53/1 SMC got off to an even faster start than BS GREEN. They reached 53/1 after five overs, despite losing Jamshaid at 4.3. Jamshaid had smashed 31 from 17, while SulaimanJavaid was contributing before eventually being dismissed later.
🟢 After 10 overs: SMC 88/3 This was SMC's first significant slowdown. They added only 35 runs between overs 5 and 10, while losing Saghir and SulaimanJavaid so BS GREEN had begun to pull the game back.
🟢 After 15 overs: SMC 153/3 Nawaz then completely changed the chase and thats exactly what should happen when a fielding side drops 4 chances. Between overs 10 and 15, SMC scored 65 runs without losing another wicket. Nawaz accelerated from 11 off 10 at the end of over 10 to 51 off 27 by the end of over 15. The 15th over alone produced 23 runs.
🟢 Final phase: SMC 204/7 in 19.3 overs SMC needed 51 runs from the final five overs, and they eventually got them — but not without drama. Nawaz continued attacking and reached 74, while wickets began falling: Sajid Ali — 163/4 Azeem Malik — 189/5 Waleed — 190/6 Nawaz — 194/7 Despite those wickets, SMC still had enough momentum to cross the line at 204/7 in 19.3 overs.
AS GOOD A MATCH AS WE COULD GET FOR A QUALIFIER.

08/09/2026

Muman's 70 runs from just 35 balls, striking at an outstanding 200.0, with 8 fours and 4 sixes was particularly impressive because of how quickly he accelerated. At the 10-over mark, Monum was only 4 off 4 balls. He then exploded through the middle and death overs:

10 overs: 4 off 4
11 overs: 19 off 9
12 overs: 22 off 12
13 overs: 27 off 14
14 overs: 35 off 17
15 overs: 37 off 21
16 overs: 56 off 27
17 overs: 64 off 31
18.4 overs: Retired-Out himself on 70 off 35.

The most remarkable phase was overs 15–17, when he went from 37 to 64 — adding 27 runs in just 10 balls. That included multiple boundaries and sixes and completely changed the momentum of the innings. Monum's 70 was not just a high-scoring innings; it was a high-impact T20 innings. BS GREEN finished on 203/4, and Monum contributed roughly 34.5% of the team's total despite facing only 35 balls.

The only disappointment was the manner and timing of his dismissal at 18.4 overs with BS GREEN on 198, just when he could have potentially pushed the total beyond 210.

08/09/2026

Syed Haider's 75 off 42 balls
11 fours + 2 sixes
Strike rate: 178.6

This was an excellent T20 innings as his progression tells the story:
• 5 overs: 20 off 13
• 10 overs: 43 off 26
• 15 overs: 68 off 39
• 17 overs: 75 off 41
• Dismissed: 75 off 42
What makes the innings particularly impressive is that he wasn't merely scoring quickly at the end. He was contributing throughout. His boundary count — 11 fours and 2 sixes — shows that he found the boundary regularly rather than depending primarily on running.
His strike rate of 178.6 was outstanding. He also formed the foundation for the huge partnership with Monum Ahmed. By the 15-over mark, Haider was 68, and BS GREEN were already 148/2. When Haider was dismissed at 183/3 in the 17.2nd over, BS GREEN were already in an excellent position. His innings therefore wasn't just statistically impressive, it materially built the platform for 203.
And interestingly, Haider also contributed with the ball later, taking 1/20 from 2.3 overs, although SMC ultimately chased the total.

SUPER-6

Kingsmen vs Crescent

Kingsmen 1st Innings — 184/9 (20 overs)
5 overs: 50/0 — Excellent start. Mohsin Ali led the charge with 29 off 16, while Ahsen Ali supported him with 19.
10 overs: 108/2 — Kingsmen maintained a strong scoring rate. Mujtaba Kamal exploded to 27, while Hassan Zaidi was 15*. Two wickets fell, but the momentum remained firmly with Kingsmen.
15 overs: 145/6 — Crescent fought back with regular wickets, including Hassan Zaidi for 32 and Shahnawaz Khan. Kingsmen lost six wickets but still scored at a healthy rate.
20 overs: 184/9 — A strong finish despite losing wickets. Salman Tahir 15 off 9* and Ahmer Zahid 6* helped push the total to a formidable 184.

Crescent 2nd Innings — 119 all out (16.4 overs)

5 overs: 32/2 — Crescent struggled early. M Asim and Aitzaz fell, leaving M Raza and Khuram Hamayun trying to rebuild.
10 overs: 69/6 — Kingsmen's bowling tightened dramatically. Crescent lost four more wickets, with Wasib Tai particularly effective.
15 overs: 106/9 — Crescent's hopes faded as wickets continued to fall. Wasib Tai reached 5 wickets, while Omer Javed provided some late resistance.
16.4 overs: 119 all out — Omer Javed was the final wicket, ending Crescent's innings at 119. Kingsmen won by 65 runs.

Turning point: Crescent never recovered from being 69/6 after 10 overs; Kingsmen's bowling pressure kept the required run rate out of reach.
